Oshino Village, located between Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Yamanaka, is a charming and picturesque destination that offers a glimpse into traditional Japanese rural life. Best known for Oshino Hakkai, a group of eight crystal-clear spring ponds fed by the snowmelt of Mount Fuji, the village is a serene escape into nature and culture.

The ponds, surrounded by lush greenery and traditional thatched-roof houses, are mesmerizing, with water so clear you can see the vibrant koi fish and pebbles at the bottom. Each pond has its own unique character, and the reflections of Mount Fuji in the water add a touch of magic, especially on clear days.

The village also offers a variety of cultural experiences. Visitors can explore small museums, traditional buildings, and local shops selling handmade crafts and regional delicacies. The fresh wasabi, grilled fish, and mochi sold at stalls are particularly popular and give you a taste of authentic Japanese flavors.

In winter, the village is quieter but equally enchanting, with snow-covered rooftops and stunning views of a snow-capped Mount Fuji. Spring brings cherry blossoms, while autumn boasts vibrant foliage, making Oshino Village a year-round destination.

The blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and a tranquil atmosphere makes Oshino Village a perfect day trip or stopover when exploring the Mount Fuji region. Whether you’re seeking scenic views, traditional charm, or simply a peaceful retreat, Oshino Village will...

Skip the place on the way to enjoy Mt Fuji views in Kawaguchiko. It’s packed as hell. Low quality street food that is served undercooked because there is a huge lines everywhere! Super crowded so you can barely enjoy views or take a picture. You would need cash (they don’t accept credit cards) that you can get from ATM in Lawson with 1%...
