Your tour would be incomplete without making a trip to visit some of the local villages in Japan.

Our village visit was to the tourist attractions of Kakuike Pond, located in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, that captures the serenity and beauty of nature. This place is famous for its 7 crystal clear ponds with crystal-clear running waters creating a stunning surrounding to admire and photo taking. The clarity of the pond is so pristine that it has gained the affectionate nickname "Niigata's natural mirror."

Our visit falls in the late autumn months, this has brought about breathtaking freshness in the air we breathe displaying rejuvenated vibes for visitors to enjoy. The landscape adds a unique charm, transforming the ponds into a peaceful, and enchanting wonderland.

If you're a photographer enthusiast you will l cherish the atmosphere here with its striking ponds making it a unique experience.

There's nothing magnificent to shout about just a village with a souvenir shop at the main attraction but it remains somewhat off the beaten path, Kakuike Pond is a must-see for those who want to experience the untouched beauty of Japan’s landscapes.

Here you will enjoy the peace and quiet nature has to offer in the natural beauty that Japan has to offer. Our visit was rather short with throngs of busses coming here. At the least it brings some memories of Japan's...

Imagine this: you're in a peaceful Japanese village, birds chirping, Mount Fuji in the distance... and then suddenly, three dragons burst out of a fountain and start spitting out the most delicious water you've ever tasted in your life. No, you're not hallucinating. Welcome to Waku-ike Pond in Oshino Hakkai. This water is so pure it tastes like liquid enlightenment. Legend says one sip adds three years to your life. I chugged half a bottle, so I’m basically aging in reverse now. If I keep drinking this, I might just unlock immortality or become a magical dragon myself. Bring a bottle. Bring two. Bring a cauldron if you must. Hydration has never been this magical. Honestly, if a water sommelier existed, this would be their final boss. Drink from the dragon. Embrace...

Tourist spot to see Mount Fuji. A stop worth making. Wonderful shops and food stalls to enjoy a little local cuisine. We had a very tasty takoyaki for 800 Yen.

The pond is wonderful and relaxing. Take some time to relax and enjoy the area. I'm a personal fan of the water wheel. For as crazy as the whole thing is it still manages to be relaxing.

Enjoy your...

Waku-ike Pond is a clear and beautiful spring pond, you can see right to the bottom, with lots of coins scattered around. Just a reminder: throwing coins is actually not allowed, even if it looks like others have done it. I saw one big white and orange carp swimming gracefully, really pretty.
