Visiting Jikko Sakai Honten is more than just a shopping trip; it's an experience. The stylish interior, lined with beautiful knives, resembles an art museum. Watching the craftsmen at work offers a unique glimpse into the artistry behind these fine tools. The staff are young, cool, and fluent in English, making it a welcoming place for international visitors. The option to customize your knife adds a personal touch that is truly special. Jikko Sakai Honten is not just a destination for buying a knife but a must-visit for those who appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of these artisanal pieces.

I'm a huge fan of the knives from Jikko and have been using them for years. They are incredibly easy to use and exceptionally sharp—I wouldn't consider using another brand. Having my name engraved on the knife made it uniquely mine, a one-of-a-kind piece in the world. Every time I cook, it brings back delightful...

I've never been here yet, but it's a major bucket list item in my life as I love knives and hand crafted items.

A few years back I met a chef from Switzerland in a Hotel in Bangkok, he told me about this place as an "Apple Store for Knives".

If I ever make the way to Japan, this is the place I am interested the most. I'll purchase a knife here and will spend as much time as possible at this place.

Especially in a fast paced world were everything seems to be replaceable, I think it's important to appreciate well crafted things and traditions.

Much love and peace to everybody in the world out there!...

Don’t quite understand. I read that they have a tourist-friendly shop where customers can buy and sharpen knives. But on arrival it was a cagey experience. I don’t think they let anyone near the tool area which is downstairs. I was authoritatively pointed up an unlit black stairway into a strange, dark, upstairs showroom where they are so proud to display knives in velvety pedestals behind imposing glass, with no prices. As if I was about to buy a Rolex, but even Rolex displays pricing. I just wanted to get out of there. ...

Great buying experience. The guy tending the shop speaks very good English, so that made everything easier for me (my Japanish is not good enough for picking all the details). He answered all of my questions, showed me every knife I wanted to see and explained me the proper use of every blade. The packaging in black boxes, with the sleeve for the blade and the foam on the insides was great for giving as gift too. I would come here again anytime if I have the chance. Totally recommended.

Very enjoyable experience of purchasing! It is a typical front store with workshop underground, like many of such places in Japan. It’s right on the boarder of Osaka-Akai city, 30 mins from Osaka station. The guy received me is not so good at English, however he tried his best to serve us by showing us a big variety of kitchen knives that suit my need. Credit card accepted. The show room is great, and the long knife for tuna dissembling in the first pic was really impressive.
