Amazing experience with loving people. Passion, kindness, patience, and a love for their craft are easily seen within the first few minutes. Everybody was so nice and explained everything thoroughly, even with a language barrier.

I was afraid of awkwardness and hurting myself but it was all put aside before the workshop even began. Our guide and aid, Yuji, was amazing in helping us through each step as it was explained. We were watched and guided with practice knives and then allowed to work on our own with supervision. To say that the safest I’ve been with a knife is in a sharpening class is funny enough.

Through it all, the most memorable part are the people there. I’m glad and honored that I was able to experience this and will absolutely be returning if/when I come back to Osaka. If you’re able, book this experience for a special memory and souvenir you will treasure for...

the selection of available santoku blades and handles was outstanding, offering a wide variety to choose from. the consultation was top-notch, and the patience of the merchant was incredibly kind and accommodating. after our discussion, my knife was completed within minutes, with the handle being attached to the blade by hand.

the quality of the knives is exceptional, and i was impressed by the craftsmanship and attention to detail. the merchant took the time to explain the differences between various knives and helped me select the perfect combination of blade and handle for my needs. the personalized service made the entire experience even more impressive.

furthermore, the shop had a very authentic feel, giving it a cozy and homely atmosphere. the knowledgeable staff are passionate about their craft and make you feel welcome from the moment...

The knife sharpening course is worth the time alone. It was an honor to come here. It was educational and I feel I learned a lot about the history of knife making as well as answering my own curiosity about why Japanese knives are made and folded the way they are. There is an insightful lesson to be learned in something that Japanese history prides itself in. The knives in the store are all hand crafted and worth looking at and considering. They were thoughtful with helping me pick a knife perfect for the person I was planning to gift it to and I am truly honored. Everyone here are wonderful and I definitely plan to come back to Sakai during my next visit to pick out another good cooking knife for myself, now that I know how to sharpen and...

Booked the knife sharpening workshop. Was thorough entertained and enlighten by the sharpening techniques and process that goes into attaching the knife handles. Definitely a unique experience doing the last mile touches on your own personalized knife. The booking/reservation process was seamless and there were no communication barriers, credit to Yuji-San. Notwithstanding, knowing that the participants hands would be down and dirty with the knives, it was great that Yuji’s spouse was around to take various photos and videos of our workshop for memories. Would definitely recommend this unique experience to others!

My cousin and I had an amazing experience at the Wada store. We started our experience by going to museum and learning about the different types of knives and their uses. We returned to the shops put on our uniform and began learning how to sharpen blades. We started with practice knives and put the finishing touches our own knives that we will take home following the class. We had plenty of help guiding our hands as we learned a new skill. I will definitely be telling everyone that will listen about my time at the Wada store
