Am based outside Japan. Was only in Tokyo for a short period, but this stop at MITUBACI was a priority. Got to know about this store from google searches. One point that attracted my attention was also Mitubaci’s affiliation(?)with Fujimori, and hence i feel that ring quality will not be an issue.
First of all, the shop and staff are English friendly. There are signs and labels in English telling you what you need to do, for example for using the coffee machine (expect to spend a few hours here)where to press to flush the toilet. We had kazuki-san as the artisan assisting us. He was able to make use of the various displays prepared by the shop to go through with us step by step on what we can get our hands dirty in the making of our own wedding bands. kazuki was really experienced, friendly and funny to be around with! He made the entire process a fun and memorable experience, and he even went the extra mile to capture key moments of the process for us (with our consent of course)!
Would be good if you know what type of ring you are going for, otherwise don’t feel pressured to ask for their input or if they have samples for you to look so that you can make a better assessment.
Overall, an experience I’ll recommend for couples looking for a customized ring, with a tinge of the Japan experience and memory...
Read moreWe had the most wonderful experience making jewelry in Tokyo during our honeymoon. As a gay married couple, we felt completely welcomed and embraced in this inclusive space. The environment was warm, supportive, and personal—nothing like a cookie-cutter or “build-a-bear” experience.
Saki, our guide and instructor, was incredibly patient and understanding. She took the time to teach us techniques, offered thoughtful feedback, and encouraged us as we created pendants that symbolized our trip and the future we’re building together. Her attention to detail made the entire experience feel so bespoke and meaningful. She clearly explained every step of making the jewelry to even involving us.
This wasn’t just an activity—it was a chance to create something we’ll treasure for years to come. We left with more than just jewelry; we left with a beautiful memory. Highly recommended for couples, friends, or anyone looking for an inclusive, welcoming space to craft something truly...
Read moreSugoi!!!! What a wonderful and hands on 1-on-1 guided ring making experience with Jun at Mitubaci Tokyo!
Jun led us through the entire process giving detailed instructions and advice. The laminated instructions were also helpful in understanding ring options and walking us through each step. It was exciting getting to use the different tools (blowtorch, hammer, polishing, etc). Not once did we feel rushed and the experience felt quite private as we were the only group for most of the time.
We also appreciated the design of the space. The lighting and soft music allowed the space to feel refined yet inviting. Each workspace is designed with the workshop participant in mind.
It is clear that there was a significant amount of thought put into every aspect of this experience.
Tremendous appreciation for the staff and artisans at Mitubaci, especially Jun- thank you for making it such a special experience and best wishes on your...
