Curly-hair-people beware!!
The service is great. And the people do speak English well and know what they typically do quite well.
I came for an Olaplex treatment as I'd read they are great at revitalizing hair and have been trying various things for a while to help restore the oomph to my hair. The application of the treatment and such was great. Except, they didn't know that curly hair applications are different. And they treated me as an individual with straight hair. The second problem arose in that they didn't know how to handle my hair for drying and didn't own up to it.
With quite curly hair sign one that they didn't know what to do was that they combed through my hair while it was wet with a fine comb. Sign two was when I was asked if I wanted my hair straightened. I replied "No" and that I wanted to see how my natural hair reacted with the product. I then ask to make sure they know how to dry curly hair and they had responded that they have diffusers to use. Warily I accepted this.
Post them using a diffuser in almost the same way as a regular hair-dryer and running their fingers through every curl breaking it up and causing my head to be a frizzy mess- I left with a 12,000 yen hole in my pocket and raced to a bathroom to wet my hair and towel dry it with a shirt in my bag.
Overall, if you don't have curly hair. It's great! If you do, I recommend checking out a different salon for any service that ends with a blowout.
My experience: 2.5/5 The positive in this is based on good customer service. As well as being able to schedule an appointment the day before. The negative is in the lack of professionalism...
Read moreWent in for a cut and the hope the could shape my beard. Turned into a disaster. Another example of don't let Japanese people near your beard. As always with Japanese hair salons/barber shops they wash you hair but also like a lot of Japanese hair salons and barbers, they are not designed for tall or bigger people and was reduced to nearly falling off the chair twice. Once moved over to the stool and shown what I would like, the young staff proceeded to do what I asked but messed up my part and thinned out my hair despite my request for him not to. After that butchering he had a go at trying to shape my beard, but a quick use of an electric shaver and clippers. He resolved nothing. Finally offered another shampoo but mentioned that it would be the same if not worse than at the start. Still got charged the 7700 yen and went into the toilet of the shop TO FIX MY OWN HAIR!!! The staff were not friendly or welcoming either. This place is a scam and it is unfortunate that a lot of people will fall for this place due to them advertising to foreigners in the area. Avoid...
Read moreFirst time staying in Tokyo, decided wanted to get hair dyed a fun color. I have long, thick, black hair and would only want it professionally dyed. Simply sent a booking email for the following day and had a quick reply, easily got in the next day. Amazing communication from start to finish (I speak English, Ryohei and assistants were beyond excellent), some of the kindest and friendliest staff I've ever had business with. They provided me with coffee and water throughout the entire appointment, and it is a very relaxing atmosphere with great music playing. If you're looking for a dye, cut, or style, trust that they will get you right! Prices are fantastic compared to many other salons I came across too. Wouldn't recommend any other salon now, next time im in Tokyo ill be visiting again for another...
