Went on one of their trips out on an inflatable on the back of a speed boat, with my wife and 12 year old daughter. There was also another inflatable attached to the boat too. As we got on, they changed drivers, from an older chap who appeared quite sensible, to a younger chap. We were wearing life vests, and rugby scrum caps, so I didn't expect things to get too rocky.
So, just before setting off there was a "safety briefing" which consisted of the man say "tap on your head to slow down and thumbs down to stop" then we were off.
At the start it was pretty good, then the speed Increased and then came the silly manoeuvres at high speed, which in turn sent our inflatable crashing into the other one attached - just inches away from hitting heads with each other. This happened again and again then the speed increased even more. At this point my daughter was quite scared, so shouted at the man to slow down, which he did.... for around 15 seconds then the same again. He was then told again to slow down, which he eventually did when I spoke up and told him to stop doing this.
We were by no means under the illusion these kinds of rides don't throw you around, but did not expect the dangerous manoeuvres that could have resulted in serious injury, nor did we expect to be ignored when told to slow down.
So be aware, these cowboys are an accident waiting to happen. They don't listen when you tell them to slow down and just like to show off that they can drive a boat fast - set of spanners!
I would have quite happily got off in the middle of the sea and swam back if I were on my own. Stupid, infantile...
Read moreWe first did the inflatable armchairs and, although I would recommend this more for kids rather than adults, the staff were brilliant. They put a lot of effort in to ensure we hit some big waves and got some air, and they were happy to take photos for us on my brotherâs phone, which was really kind. But for thrill-seeking adults, maybe a banana boat would be more exciting!? We then did the rib coasteering and had an absolute blast â I wouldnât hesitate to do it again next time weâre on the island, and I would persuade anyone visiting to not miss this! The lady who took us was an absolute credit to the company (apologies, Iâve forgotten her name but she was, I think, Northern Irish with short cropped hair). She was friendly, funny, enthusiastic, she took interest and made conversation with each of us. She was knowledgeable, entertaining, and great fun⊠the type of person weâd all want to be friends and have a pint down the pub with! We got some epic jumps in, explored âbat caveâ, saw lots of shags (birds!), and learned about the tides and swell. It was brilliant fun, but I would recommend being a strong swimmer as we had a young lad on our trip and he found it hard to keep up on the fairly long-ish swims between jumps whilst battling the swell. All of the staff working at this company â from the lady serving in the cafĂ© / shop on the beach, to the gents on the boat taking out the inflatables and driving the rib, to our coasteering tour guide - were polite, friendly and helpful, and the epitome of excellent customer service!! Thanks for a...
Read moreDidn't actually get a chance to do Blokarting. But it was a nightmare trying to get in touch via number provided on website. When I first called I was told there was no availability this week, next time I was told to call after a few hours and the gentleman wasn't in the office. When I called back later, he'd left the office so was told to call back next day. Tried calling next day from my phone next day twice and he didn't answer, however the call from my hotel was answered right away. I was told to text message availability for Thu which was strange as messages to he number on the site don't go through and I'd tried both emailing and WhatsApp. I was given a second number to message and they would get back to me on Thu availability but no one ever did! What a waste of time trying to chase this. Better to book with Jersey Adventures as the staff is polite, easy to get in touch with and to the point on...
