Le Vat Phra Bat Tai ou Chua Phat Tich (1960)(Nom : monastère de l’empreinte sud du pied de Bouddha) Ancien emplacement de la délégation khmère qui amena le Bouddha Pha Bang et donc un des plus anciens lieux de culte de la ville. C’est, actuellement, le lieu de culte de la minorité vietnamienne de Luang Phabang. Le temple moderne ne ressemble à aucun autre dans son architecture et sa disposition. On y trouve plusieurs salles de prière avec de nombreux autels. Un grand Bouddha couché occupe tout un bâtiment. L’empreinte se trouve en contre-bas du temple, en léger surplomb du Maekong, dans une petite chapelle en ogive. La vue depuis cet endroit est particulièrement belle au coucher du soleil.

Read moreNel mio giro in bicicletta, oltre al monumento del Presidente, sono arrivato fino a questo tempio buddista fuori dai giri turistici normali, troppo lontano dal centro. Un piccolo compound sulla riva del Mekong, con alcune piazzole quasi fino al livello del fiume ed una statua di Buddha rivolta al fiume.
