DON’T BOTHER. Worst restaurant we’ve experienced in Asia. 😣
Came in at 1900, frosty waitstaff almost like they didn’t want us there, ignoring us, thought it was just because their English was bad - out fault I guess as we don’t speak Lao.
Eventually managed to order, 2x noodle soups, easy!, 45mins after ordering, received x1 of the dishes, but was told they couldn’t make the other one (khao soi) and to choose something else.
My partners dish had already arrived so I make a choice of something quick to cook, ‘chicken holy basil fried rice’, 25 minutes later (no joke) I receive the most basic tasteless fried rice ever, zero chicken, one tiny sprig of basil, lots of oil though! Honestly was an embarrassment to SE Asian cuisine.
Paid 52k kip for this ridiculously basic dish. 😳 despite paying 48k for the noodle soup with pork.
On the way out at 2030, a European tourist couple were refused a table despite plenty of free tables and having just accepted a Chinese couple, so maybe they just hate westerners.
Cleanliness was also not very good, ants on table and tableware/glasses look unwashed.

Ordered the rice with holy basil chicken, then changed my order to the caramel pork sandwich. The waiter didn't understand me and brought out both. He didn't seem to want to take the food back, suggested I take it home. (I'm traveling so may just give it away at the night market down the road) The food was good, but not everyone speaks English in the world so only fair for miscommunication to occur. The rice with holy basil was good though, the pork was alright, too full to eat the sandwich part. Outside of the miscommunication, the waiter and other young guy working were very attentive. The sandwich was 48,000 kip so about $3....
Read moreWe ate here multiple times during our stay in Luang Prabang. We enjoyed everything we had, and were often surprised at how much flavor was packed into the dishes. Each meal was about $10-12 USD (one appetizer, two mains and 2-3 drinks). Winners for us were: summer rolls, miss chicken, noodle soup, all the sandwiches we tried, and surprisingly, the chicken spaghetti. The family who runs it are very friendly. Definitely recommend coming here if you’re in...
