I’ve been living in Cancun for years as an expat so have generally good experience with these malls and boutiques.
Their major problem is somehow or other the management of these “luxury” shops think it is a good idea to have security guards manage the entrances instead of store personnel. Security guards which I believe have no incentive to be even slightly welcoming considering they work for a security company and not the mall itself.
I’ve had many instances in the luxury stores with securities giving strange steers as if I’m There to rob the place which surely doesn’t make one feel welcome to buy.
And just tonight as I planned to do a bit of shopping with my family and I, we went through Liverpool and cake out the back upstairs to the door to palacio which I understand is generally an exit, however there is pretty much no way to get Down from there without going back through Liverpool. Usually the store personal let’s me in, but this time or course a top flight security guard is at the door. He lets in my family (the lady and baby) but says I need to get lost and find the the entrance on the other side of the mall.
And even when they say I’m with them he wouldn’t cave. So of course we left, better to shop in Miami or elsewhere for...
Read moreI purchased a perfume from this shop for $270 USD, and when I opened the box, the bottle had noticable scratches on both sides and some paint had come off. Since this was a premium product, I expected the staff to take it back and give me a new one. I returned to the store one hour after I had opened the box with the defected perfume bottle, and the ladies did not want to take back the defected bottle and apologize and give me a new one. All they said was "I'm sorry, but there is nothing we can do. You already opened the box. You can write a bad review on Google." The perfume is great, but I already knew that before I bought it. But the bottle was defected and I paid full price. They should never encourage a customer to just write a bad review without even trying to help. This could have been easily avoided if the ladies would have apologized, explained why they can't give me a new bottle, and offer me something else instead, like small perfume samples that they give away for free anyway. A small gesture like that would have completely changed my anger, and I would have left the store happy.
I give the place a 10/10 for how it looks but I give a 1/10 to the staff who need to do much better...
Read moreI visited the mall to go to the luxury stores. The GUCCI store calculated how much tax I will receive back on my purchase by just giving my receipt, Credit card number, passport # and immigration form to the TAXFREE store upstairs. They use this as a selling point to try and make you think you are getting a deal and a cheaper price but the TAXFREE store at this mall is a scam. They are refusing my refund that they told me i would get around $400 back to my credit card with in 40 days. They are telling me I need a " tax refund number" but my other refund for $40 that i did the next day went through and they never asked for this number to track that. It is a scam and these stores use it to try and get you to spend for money. Gucci and Loui Vuitton are both guilty of it. The mall needs to figure this out fast before more people figure it out which they are. No help what so ever...
