The Spa by The Fives — Local services in Playa del Carmen

My wife and I got a couples massage a couple days ago. They let us do one hour of hydro therapy before the massage which was a great addition/surprise. My wife and I are also new to all of this, so we didnt know what we were getting into. But the staff didn't judge. They didn't seem annoyed, They just assisted us in each step. Between the wet sauna,dry sauna,ice bath and jacuzzi. Hydro therapy was fantastic! During those various steps, they had different skin treatments to help protect the skin and/or prep us for the massage. We each had one on one assistance to personally help us through each step to ensure we did each step correctly.

Our massage therapists Miguelina and Luis prepped us in the "relaxation room". The room had comfortable beds, light aromas and calming music. My wife chose Light pressure, I chose medium to hard pressure.

I can't begin to describe how incredible they did. In the massage room, they stimulated various senses between the aromas you would breath in, the audio in the background and then the massage. It was unbelievable. My wife and I are 36 years old and wish we did this sooner.

Just when I thought the pressure may be "too much", she could sense that and would work that area between medium and hard to ensure it was an enjoyable experience.

The spa as a whole, is a 5 star experience. Sure, the massages were heavenly and well beyond what i would have expected. But what made me even want to leave a review, was the fact that every single person we encountered were so respectful,helpful and did everything they could to make this not just a massage but experience.

My wife and I left floating on clouds. 😀

I enjoyed it so much, that I'm leaving this review.(I'm not a tech guy or one to rush and leave a review). But Luis and Miguelina honestly blew us away. They are so talented. My only complaint is that I only booked 50 minutes!

I've had 3 sessions of Hydrotherapy at The Spa. The facility is clean, spacious, and new looking. The people at the front desk are professional, friendly, organized, and efficient. You begin your session with a shower. Each booth has multiple nozzles to easily clean your entire body. The steam room is set at 60 which I found a little hot but there was no pressure to stay any longer than comfortable. During the first and 3rd sessions I was given body scrub. For the 2nd session I was given a moisturizer which was good and soothing since I was sporting a burn. Cranberry juice and/or water was given to ensure hydration and detoxification from this point on. You then showered again before going into a dry heat sauna. You were encouraged here to lie down and relax. A cold cloth was placed over my eyes. The attendant frequently checked to see if all was well. When I'd had enough heat, he used cool clothes to wipe down my arms, legs, chest, and stomach. I was then invited to go in the cold tub to reduce inflammation, staying in as long as I was comfortable . I then went to a warm tub to relax. I repeated this 3 times, with the option of bubbles or none. Finally, I lay on a lounger overlooking a lovely treed area. Relaxing sounds played throughout the entire time. Face mask or moisturizing rub was offered. A lovely snack of seeds, raisins, and sliced apple was given on day. You were able to stay and relax as long as you wished.

The attendant who directed my sessions was Aldo. He was great. I appreciated his concern throughout concerning my how I was feeling. I'm a 62 year old diabetic. Extreme heat and cold could be worrisome, but Aldo made me feel safe and relaxed. Aldo was very personable and did an excellent job.

The hydrotherapy experience was nothing short of amazing. Tony and Rubi were attentive, making every moment enjoyable while expertly explaining the benefits of each step. They even encouraged us to try the cold water therapy—a challenge that left us feeling invigorated and refreshed. The 30+ minutes flew by, leaving us relaxed and ready for the next part of our journey.

We were then introduced to our massage therapists, Iris and Bette, who exceeded all expectations. Their professionalism and skill were evident from the start. They checked in to ensure the pressure was perfect, creating a tailored and deeply relaxing experience. The soothing music in the background added to the serene ambiance, making it easy to drift into complete tranquility. The 80-minute massages were an absolute 10+, leaving us feeling rejuvenated and at peace.

The experience concluded in a serene relaxation room, where we sipped on tea and water in a stunningly designed space. It was the perfect way to reflect on and savor the incredible treatments we had just received.
