Nar Bis in one word is just the BEST! Located in the peaceful Happy Village, just a 30 minute walk from the Pokhara main lakeside market. This property is truly home because it really did feel like that for the 2 months this summer me and my partner spent there. The owner Santosh, his wife Chandra, their kids and their cute dog Sparky make it feel so accommodating and warm. Santosh ji is a great man and an amazing host! He’s always open to suggestions, never once said no if we needed his help regarding anything. He even drove us to Sarangkot, Begnas Lake and other places, multiple times! One of our bigger suitcases got ripped due to overpacking. Santosh ji himself took it for repair and didn’t even take the money from us. That’s how he is!
Chandra aunty, his wife is a sweetheart and she’s an amazing cook. One can always feel safe with the food at Nar Bis because it’s made just like home and super flavourful. The WiFi is strong and works through the day, there’s 24/7 hot water and power backup. All the rooms face the beautiful lake and you’ve many cafes, restaurants and grocery shops in walking distance if you don’t want to travel to the main market daily. Rooms were cleaned without any tantrums whenever we asked for the house help. His name is Netra and he’s a sweet chap too.
Santosh ji and Chandra aunty almost became family to me and my girlfriend. We used to catch up for quick chats regularly, talk over tea sometimes. I’m a home-chef so they even let me use their main kitchen one day to cook and we all had a feast that night. There’s also a fully-functional shared kitchen on the ground floor which they let us use with no restrictions. The property has 6 floors with the ground and 1st floor reserved for the family and reception, restaurant on the 5th floor and the rest are all rooms which are fully equipped, clean and very well ventilated. We didn’t feel the need of an AC from Mar-May 2022. Although, AC rooms are also available. Our privacy was always respected, living as an unmarried couple who’s working remotely in Pokhara.
My final suggestion would be that one must stay in this property at least once be it for a short while or long. It’s amazing to say the...
Read moreWords cannot describe how blessed I was to follow my intuition and come to stay at the Nar-Bis Hotel. First the hotel is gorgeous. Every detail is throught through and highest quality, from the beddings to the plumbing, the rooms are high end. Made with traditional materials, just like the whole building, in beautiful red brick. All this for an extremely affordable price. Second, the view is insanely beautiful. Overlooking the Fewa Lake, and surrounding hills. A few minutes away from the hustling and noisy Pokhara, but super close still, you can rest and enjoy the best of Nar-Bis: M. Santosh’s family. Him, Mrs Chandra, and Miss Nita just go above and beyond in every way, and you instantly feel at home. The food is delicious, and enjoyed with a vista you won’t find anywhere else. Now, the miracle: M. Santosh is an incredible biker (with his Himalayan Enfield), guide, and human being. Going with him to Mustang was just one of the highlights of my life, that I intend to repeat. Everything went magically and smoothly: just pure and safe adventure, beautiful biking days, and encounters with the local Mustang populations. All this, again, for a super affordable price. I cannot recommend this place enough. proof: I am still staying there! With the moon reflecting over the Lake....
Read moreIt was a beautiful and amazing place. Me and my boyfriend had the most beautiful time here in Pokhara, so close to the Phewa lake, with a view that is really amazing. Also the walks from the place were also very interesting and peaceful. Another great site every day during breakfast is seeing the paragliders landing and doing tricks all around. The host was also very nice and was kind enough to pick us up at the bus station as well as drop us off when we needed to head off. It was in an amazing location and definitely recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful and quiet get away while in Pokhara with the city center just mere 20 minutes walk away. p.s. the breakfast here is absolutely amazing! Also the milk tea and juice they serve is very very good! I myself fell in love with the milk tea while my boyfriend enjoyed the freshly made...
