My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Fly Inn on Dec 11th and 12th. We booked the luxury suite on the top floor. At 2am, I heard a lot of loud voices outside the hotel room that woke up both up. I went outside the room, and saw three men inside each room on either side of ours with the door open talking very loudly. I asked them to be quiet and went back into the hotel room. As I was shutting the door, one of the men started entering the room and punching me in the face, with the others behind him. My girlfriend started screaming and I managed to shut the door in his face. The next hour was something out of a horror movie. They were slamming themselves against the door trying too break into the room. Then it would be quiet, and a really creepy voice would go "room service" and try and open the door. We even heard them trying to pick the lock. We were completely stuck up there, the hotel phone didn't work so we couldn't call the reception. Our cellphones didn't work so we couldn't call the police. We had poor wifi, and weren't able to call Nepalese numbers from it. It was a really scary experience. We were desperately searching the hotel room for makeshift weapons to defend ourselves with in case they broke down the door or came in through the balcony. We tried screaming for help on the balcony but no one responded. After a long time, we looked out the balcony and saw they were leaving on motorcycles. After they left we went downstairs, and saw the "staff" and "security guard (a few teenage kids) in the lobby. We asked them what happened and they told us that they were "trying to help us by coming to the room saying room service". At this point we realized that the thugs that assaulted us and tried to break into our room were friends of the "staff" and that the staff was in on the entire situation. We're not sure if they were trying to rob us, or just terrify us, as foreigners we weren't able to get a clear read on the situation. We were absolutely shocked, neither of us have every experienced anything like this or ever imagined something like this happening. We got out of their immediately, and alerted a few friends in Pokhara who said they would try and alert the police about what happened. This experience tainted our trip to Nepal and Pokhara completely. We don't feel that its a safe country for tourists. AVOID THE HOTEL FLY INN AT ALL COSTS. THIS PLACE IS CORRUPT AND RUN BY VIOLENT TEENAGERS. IT IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT. I WROTE THIS REVIEW TO WARN...
Read moreStayed for the first time at this hotel and loved it. This is a new property and lies at the northern end of Fewa Lake. Rooms are very good but bit small in size which really restricts proper movements and organizing your baggages. The beds are comfortable and the washroom is good with all required amenities. The restaurant is at the top and provides spectacular views and nice ambience of the restaurants with good seating arrangement. However, since there is no lift, it was not an easy walk - for elderly people it is difficult to climb up to 5 floors or so. You can enjoy the beauty and mesmerizing scene of Fewa Lake. The staff are very hospitable and friendly including its owner. Try this - you...

They have an adorable puppy named Bunny who is very friendly. The hotel is lakeside and has beautiful views of the lake. It's also further north on the lake away from traffic and party scene but still close to everything. Next time we are in Pokhara, we will stay here again...
