I will admit the cheese is very tasty, and I appreciate the chance to sample so many flavors, but I could not find any toothpicks. The saleslady was indifferent, and stayed behind the counter the entire time. Maybe because I was the only person in the shop. I know I was there for at least 10 minutes. She even looked miserable. After staring in her direction intermittently for several seconds, I decided to leave. I visited the Cheese Museum and Henry Willig Cheese Shop in Amsterdam, and both sales clerks were on hand to explain everything to me and were enthusiastic about me trying the cheeses with different mustards and dips. I ended up purchasing not only my favorite truffle Gouda at both shops but also a jar of balsamic kaneel and a jar of GlŪhwein cheese dip at each shop. I just don't understand why a person who appeared despondent would work at a shop that would include...

Of all the cheese shops in Gouda, this is by far the best. I was not going to buy any cheese in Gouda as I came to visit the Siroopwafel factory, but as we were wasting the rest of our day we decided to check out the cheese shops for the fun of it and later in the day we passed by and checked it out.

They have small bites of EVERY cheese on display to test out. So obviously we were curious and tried most of the different cheeses. We found some surprising flavors and decided to buy them.

If you’re unsure about what to buy, this shop is definitely the place to go to make sure you’re buying something you like and not just some random Gouda.

They also have an amazing selection of foreign cheeses. I was surprised to find French cheeses that are not the most common one even in France.
