Restaurant Wally — Restaurant in Nijmegen

While passing through Nijmegen, I was looking for a place where I could eat something delicious and at reasonable prices. I chose Wally, of course based on over a thousand positive opinions. We sat outside as it was a warm day. Unfortunately, the street did not cooperate with us. I mean the frequent passing motorcycles that generated so much noise that we had to interrupt the conversation. Moving on to the food - we ordered: Homemade lemonade lemon Wallyburger Ereburger Sweet potato fries There was a feeling in the lemonade that it was far from one prepared only from fresh ingredients. It had a chemical aftertaste. I definitely expected something different from "homemade lemonade" The fries were just ok. There was nothing extraordinary or outclassing about them. When it comes to the main dishes, unfortunately I do not share the opinion. It was definitely not the best burger I've ever eaten. I'm a huge fan of American sandwiches and I found that these burgers definitely lacked that something. I can't say they were inedible. They were just meant to be eaten once. The ingredients were correct, but for me the whole thing did not create a perfect unity, an explosion of flavor. In the case of Ereburger, the taste was definitely dominated by Bleu d'Evert cheese. The rest of the ingredients didn't have a chance to cut through the intense flavor of the cheese. The nuts were a very interesting addition, but as I mentioned, they got lost in the cheese, just like the quilted chicory. A plus for the meat, which was juicy. delicous! the burgers are locally sourced meat and well priced, I had a Wallyburger with their amazing sauce. Options to add extra toppings to your burger.

their juice is great for a hot day and you can really taste the freshness.

it's also avaible to get vegan/vegetarian burgers here that have good structural integrity and won't crumble apart!

the rosemary fries are delicous but overpriced for the amount you get, which is sad if you dip them in sauce since the delicate rosemary flavour is lost to the mayonnaise. or Sierra sauce, HP or ketchup (which is avaible on the table; no need to ask for more or extra sauce!)

staff is friendly and fluent in both Dutch and English!

Great service, the staff was super friendly and fast. They had good English and could explain everything on the menu and give good recommendations. The food was absolutely delicious, very balanced and top quality products. The price-quality balance was good and although the menu does not have more than 10 or so items, you can be sure that what you're getting is going to be yummy. You can't get a better-priced gourmet burger in Nijmegen as far as I'm concerned and also be nice and full at the end of your dinner. The place itself is very pleasant looking, quite hipster (we got served a great lemonade in a mason jar so...) and offers the possibility of dining outside which is always nice on...
