Three years ago, I came to visit Scheveningen, I was a confused young man, a stranger in a strange land.
I was hungry and wanted to try the famous Kibbeling, but I came here too late, the owner told me it was already sold out.
So I went out disappointed, standing outside the shop, contemplating what I should do next.
Just as I was deep in my thoughts, a female staff came out and kindly approach me, she handed me a box of Kibbeling, telling me that it’s on the house.
At that moment I don’t know what to say, I thank her, and slowly walk towards the beach and found a bench to enjoy the food. It was the best fried fish I’ve ever had in my life.

The couple next to us was enjoying a fresh pickled herring speckled with onions. I was told that this is the season for that experience. We're definitely going back...

Original review: If I had known that I'd love the Dutch herring so much I would have came more often and eaten this more often. It's so good and I think this place could be the best place for it. The staff here is no-nonsense, straight to the point and does all the job correctly, and the decoration as well as the location is...
