De Dagvisser — Restaurant in The Hague

A coworker and I decided to go drink two Heineken beers here at the bar of this restaurant and sat at the counter. Everything was going very well, the people were friendly, two very friendly Spanish guys served us with great delicacy and professionalism. We work in an aerospace company, I'm a specialized technician, I'm used to luxurious environments and we were really enjoying both the menu and the people, we were even considering going back with our families and having a mega dinner. But suddenly a Lord came and told us both the following: They're talking a lot, finish the beers, pay and leave our restaurant, there are more places to drink beers, not here. I replied that he could ask us to speak a little more quietly, but that wasn't the reason because we were really talking normally, without shouting, but rather a conversation between two people at the counter of the establishment and also seeing that the dining area is located From a great distance the restaurant is huge, we would never be bothering anyone in any way, we were just chatting and quite happy to be there. We were put out on the street by the waiter, this was very strange for us. This man didn't know us at all and thought we were just getting to know the restaurant. When I was paying with my card he wanted me to pay by contact but my card is broken and he then for fun says that I was old school I think this is discrimination against older people and a lack of respect get out into the street as if we were two dogs. And he told me take your friend with you, I told him that I wasn't a train and my friend wasn't tied to me so he would leave whenever he wanted. I will never return to this place again, this Chef is a person with no education whatsoever, an arrogant person with no ethics at all. Bad evening, due to bad planning from owner. ---

We had to wait extra long for our food, as did most of the other guests. More than one hour for one cup of tomato soup, and two orders of sushi! Orders were jumbled, unavailable, and other stupid errors. Complete chaos! Not a single word of excuse, or a compensation from the owner! ---

Our food was tasty though, and our waitress made the most of it, with a smile. We learned from her that the owner had given kitchen staff extra leave. On a sunny Sunday, and Fathers Day! When people came in the usual droves, they were unable to manage the demand. ---

Our waitress even told us that it is often 'a chaos' in Dagvisser, but she was happy, because this time the owner 'didn't constantly yell at the waiters'. I find this unacceptable, and a poor way to manage a restaurant at such a nice location, with such dedicated staff. ---

The Dagvisser is a restaurant in the harbour of Scheveningen that specialises in fish dishes. They have a large variety of fish and seafood on the menu which can be paired with excellent wines.

The restaurant itself offers outdoor seating and indoor seating. If you want to have a seat inside make sure you reserve on time as it usually is very busy. While it can look packed inside you actually have quite some space at most tables.

The service is very good and the staff will happily help you choose your wine or give advice on the various fish dishes they serve. On of the unique features of this restaurant is that every fish on the menu can also be seperately ordered prepared in the way you like. This makes it much more interesting to try out new things.

I would certainly recommend eating here if you are in Scheveningen. Price wise they are cheaper than most other restaurants in the vicinity and after multiple visits I have not been dissapointed in the quality of the...
