JM Snacks — Restaurant in The Hague

I can't fault the food at all my rating is based on the overall experience. My family and I have been coming here for over 6 years and they've always provided fresh quality food. Anyways we drove from Paris just to dine here once more. Upon our arrival they were very busy and rushed which is understandable during the month of Ramadan. We ordered on the digital board although there were no alternative languages on their except Dutch we managed to order what we wanted. Food was not a problem it was very tasty. However our biggest problem were the dirty baby chairs and the fact that there's no hand sanitizer by the doors or walls. The tables were dirty, floors sticky with food on it. The cooks behind the counter were coughing without masks on. Talk about unhygienic. Then when we finally finished eating as our babies didn't eat their food there was still a whole intact meal left so my husband went to ask for a box to take what was left, he was ignored three times even though no one else was waiting or ordering. Finally he asked again and a different staff member finally gave him a box after making him wait 5 minutes ,the staff were very rude. Maybe they discriminated against my husband and I because we spoke English and not Dutch I have no idea why they were so harsh. Come here for fish and chips done the proper way. I've never been dissapointed here. This place has been here ever since I was a little kid and it get quite crowded here, even with bad weather. That's with good reason because the food is good. Ask for a "lekkerbek schotel" and you won't be disappointed. Don't judge a book by its cover; the place doesn't look very fancy but the food is tasty. And to be honest; I don't like a fancy place when I'm here; it's on the corner of the Harbor and it's atmosphere is basic and old-school and fits in with it's surroundings. We recently visited this fish shop for a meal, and overall, it was a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their dishes.

The service was good, though not exceptional. This isn’t a major complaint — everything we needed was taken care of, but there’s room for improvement in attentiveness and pace. That’s just me being professional and honest.
