Really poor food options for the general public at the NY races. 1 concession stand with the usual hot dogs etc, but perpetually had no food ready and was, baffling to be sure, cash only. Inside, 1 food stand that again supposedly sold chips, pies, sandwiches but on several attempts to get a meal had NO FOOD. One carvery option with a massive line. Plenty of alcohol though. At one point I contemplated making a complaint to the District Licensing Authority against the racing club as I'm pretty sure if you're serving that much booze you need to have proper food options available and there really wasn't. Maybe the members get better treatment. Poor day out, would think twice...
Read moreNice venue. This was the first time I have been to this venue and also to the vintage car show. There was plenty of free parking. I would suggest that the venue place some sort of barrier/alternate path for pedestrians as you and the cars share the same road to walk up to the show grounds. Appart from that, it is easy walking, plenty of things to do and see and family friendly. It was nice to see so many old cars restored and cared for. It also didn't hurt that there were some more modern cars at the show for boy/gal racers to gawk at. Well worth going to the car show even if it is not your passion, to appreciate how far we have come with technology...
Read moreWe bought tickets for $195 per person on the 3rd floor of Barfoot §Thompson. We arrived at 4 o'clock. It turns out we were no longer entitled to any drinks or food . At the same time, none of the senior staff were there. After a long search, they found some elderly lady who answered us in a completely rude tone that we arrived too late. No apologies, no attempts to resolve the issue. And we just bought the ticket. If you sell tickets, then they should work. I wonder what we paid $400 for? To sit in this dirty room?
