Greenlane Manor Motel — Hotel in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

A great little motel where one would not expect. Shown to our room which to my dismay was right on the front over looking the Great South Road and all its traffic in glory. I could not have been more mistaken and very pleasantly surprised, as due to the construction, the room was very quite and we had a great nights sleep. The room was very tidy, roomy and blacked out so no annoying early morning sun. The host was fantastic as she was raised in the area and able to point us in the direction to some great eateries. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to Ellerslie township which hosts a great Irish pub and a couple of cafes the next day for breakfast. On the way to the township is the train station which can take to many destinations in Auckland. How I would describe the host she treated us like a long lost friend or family. Greenlane Manor Motel Auckland New Zealand Very nice woman at check in helped me check in and helped me figure out where to head for food and best ways to get transit about. She also offered me a glass/carton of milk. New Zealand likes milk. In my room, which was very clean and a good size there was a great booklet of local attractions and restaurants. It is located near a train station and near shops and restaurants. In the room I had an electric tea kettle, fridge, dishes, cups, silverware, microwave, toaster and instant coffee and tea. We stayed here for two nights while visiting family, the motel room was very clean and well appointed. The motel is on a busy main road however the road noise was minimal and did not affect sleeping (we were upstairs), its in a good location with public transport nearby. The room was large, bright and airy. There was a kitchenette, plenty of storage and a small balcony with a table and chairs. The good sized bathroom with spa bath(which we didnt use), plenty of towels and toiletries were provided. Parking was provided and a security gate closed at night for safety.
