We had our wedding here and it was an absolute nightmare. I wish we had never went with this venue. Our event manager wasn't present on the day, (which he said he would) but on the day we had someone else dealing with our wedding, who knew absolutely nothing about it besides a handover sheet which was not even updated. Had to pay extra for something we had already paid for, we were willing to show receipt but this manager refused. We paid for buffet and table service for our headtable and 2 VIP tables and they only came around to serve us once that was it. We had to constantly ask stuff for top up of water and to have drinks served to all our VIP tables and headtable as they seemed to care less. Our venue layout was completely different to what we had agreed on, we also asked for VIP parking and assured they would have it prepared for us by the door only to arrive on the day and security asking us to move our cars. We complained later and our event manager said someone had missed this detail on the day. Very disappointing. You pay and trust these venues with your one special day and it just turns out so bad, it's annoying and very, very...
Read moreWe recently attended an awesome party at the "Tote on Ascot" building of Ellerslie Event Centre. We loved the setting, the catering staff were lovely and enjoyed the environment overall. We appreciate the building's heritage and admire the superb quality of its maintenance. The hall size was great for the number of invitees too.
Our only concern is with the air conditioning of the hall, there isn't any, which is a real shame. The party was on a hot and humid summer day. All of us (party goers) were completely ecstatic, dancing around and enjoying the music so much that most of us were suffering from the heat.
To make it short, I personally would not attend another event at the Tote on Ascot building if the event was to occur during summer or on a humid / muggy day. It might be bearable in winter, but I strongly suggest investing in a proper heating and cooling air conditioning system to get a...
Read moreAs I work in the wedding industry, I have crossed with many event venues and also visited this place a couple of times.
This time (Auckland racing club) It has a great environment but seems does not do too much with its service, management, or training.
Me and my crew were looking for tableware after getting our food. We wanna quickly take our dinner and get back to work. Somehow, they always have trouble finding some extra forks and knives, and this is not the first time. After a couple of minutes, a lady finally walked out for the kitchen with 2 forks and looks very impatient. Which I just don’t understand why, all we asked is tableware to eat and our clients have already paid our dinner. Across many experiences, this is just...
