Unfortunately I left this Brazilian wax feeling robbed. I booked into Brazilian beauty therapy as I was passing through Auckland. The reviews seemed ok and the bonus was she did the “bikini facial”. I thought when I booked online this bikini facial included a wax as it was categorised under waxing. I was wrong and on arrival I was informed it did not include this. As a traveller on a strict budget I decided to just go with a Brazilian wax. I noted to Nina that I had a few sporadic hairs just on the inside of my thigh and she said she would remove “everything”. The actual treatment was satisfactory, although a few hairs were broken as these grew back within days. I went to pay and I was presented with an extortionate bill, which I questioned. Having had a wax only 4weeks ago I didn’t expect to be paying $75 for a Brazilian 8-12weeks, Nina said it was because I did not have my treatment with her (how could I when I have been travelling through NZ). She agreed to take $10 off. I also found out that the sporadic hairs on the inside of my hair had cost me $30 per leg! This should have been told to me before removal (I would have happily removed it myself to save $60!). Got a Groupon for One hour teeth whitening session. Not the BEST experience, she was really nice but obviously not a dentist so there was no consult or anything beforehand. I have had my teeth bleached before and the equipment used and the consultation beforehand was a lot more thorough and ‘dental quality’ if you will. The bed here wasn’t that comfortable and the mouth guard they use to expose your teeth was rough on my lips and hurt. She did warn me about the possibility of blisters which I have unfortunately got two now due to the bleach touching my lips, which I didn’t get with my last experience at a different company. She also used a cotton bud to put Vaseline on my lips and inner lips as a barrier which is good hygiene wise but she was quite rough so it hurt the webbing where my lips connect to my gums. She was really nice and thorough in terms of applying the bleach and was happy to tell me about the other discounts I could get for other services but I think I maybe wouldn’t recommend this experience for people who have never had their teeth bleached before.
