The team at NZ Van Lines was absolutely amazing.

I provided them with a complete inventory of my family’s belongings, which saved me from filling out their form — which they were happy to accept. My move was considered ‘smaller than usual,’ so they insisted on sending a moving consultant for a more accurate, obligation-free quote. This resulted in a very competitive price compared to other quotes I received.

On moving day, Natasha, Arron, Muzz, and the rest of the crew arrived on time. Their passion for their work was evident as they carefully packed everything we hadn’t already packed, labeled each box, and had everything loaded by 11 AM.

Three days later, the truck with a different crew arrived at 3:30 PM as scheduled. Despite what must have been a long day for them, they provided top-notch service with a smile. I appreciated the friendly chats as they moved items from the truck to the designated rooms. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch all their names, but they worked seamlessly as a team, with us being their last customer of the day.

From the moment I submitted my enquiry and got a same day response, the efficiency was second to none. The home visit was great and the confirming process was super easy.

Troy and Arron came the day before the move to pack and wrap items to save time on the day. Polite, courteous and professional.

On the morning of the move the two trucks were given other jobs before hand, so arrived a little later and we ended up with even more movers, Arron and Tony arrived and packed all of the boxes into the one truck, then Parish, Wiri, Iani, Tania, and Pete arrived and removed all the furniture and outdoor items.

Due to having pets we asked if the washing machine could be the last item into the truck and the first out so we could atleast put the animals into the laundry room away from the rest of the move - no issues the team were happy to help!!

The movers barely stopped and if they weren't moving furniture, were folding blankets and clearing away packaging.

I used VanLines to move items within NZ, from North to the South Island. Despite having an electronic tagging device they lost two boxes. The remaining boxes arrived - after a long time in following up with a lot of phone calls on my behalf (turns out they got lost part way). We received two boxes that had someone else's name on them. VanLines refused to believe these were not our boxes (despite a VanLines sticker with a different name printed on it) and said it was impossible that we received the wrong items. They refused to take back the items (I ended up leaving them in the warehouse hoping they'd find their way back to their rightful owner). Personnal were rude and confrontational in person. I wrote letters to Head Office who passed the responsibility back to the regional office. I wrote again to Head Office to sort the matter out. They did not respond. I strongly recommend using...
