The Moving Company Wellington — Local services in North Island

Avoid. So many things went wrong. Until the day before the move, we had not received our invoice (so not paid, so not sure if the movers were coming). We paid for packing and we shouldn't have. When the movers arrived, the one that looked the older and in charge did not say hi and just said "I didn't plan to pack a kitchen" when I try to show him my form, he said "It's too late now, i didn't take what I needed, it's not my problem. Call the office, it's their problem" (rude?!). I called the office and were assured the manager was going to call us back, they didn't. We watched movers throw our possessions into boxes (you know these boxes with a bar in them to put clothes on hangers in? They had them and just dumped clothing in them), barely covering our furniture (they taped a skateboard to a piece of oak furniture!!), put lamps without padding in boxes, put a full (of water)dehumidifier in a box (yes it leaked)... Stressed for 10 days until the furniture arrived in Auckland. The movers were 1:30h late, they brought a couch that wasn't ours. ALL the furniture was damaged, not just scratches, wood legs were broken, wooden handles were broken, lamps were decapitated, a file cabinet was deformed because the drawers were banged back in (yes the drawers on all furniture were not secured close). The team in Auckland was nice and we got everything back on the day (except some things that fell from drawers? 😑), so okay job I guess? I do not recommend, will never use their...

Just finished a move. Haven't moved in a while and weren't sure whether we wanted to do the whole full house move again. But thankful for Guilane* for the initial quote, coming over to the house, and staying in touch. Great service, and went into great detail. Truly an asset to the moving company. On move day, we had the pleasure of having Cona lead the team, Stig, Aaron, Steve, and Max all come and just do everything that was promised and more. Staying in contact throughout the entire day and into the evening, making sure everything was how we wanted it and where we wanted it. From dismantling and putting back into pieces, very grateful for their work. Man, didn't look easy at all, but they did it in great spirits and even right until the end, early evening, still high spirits and ensuring we were happy. The fact they work so well together and want to, really made this experience one without stress. Totally recommend for your next move. Well...

Had compared with a list of companies, we have decided to go with The Moving company at the end, not just because of the price, Julaine has helped us with an extra appointment to go through all the paperwork for custom when everything has been so stressful when it comes to moving. We had a 4 bedrooms house and a double garage with full of stuffs, it took 3 days to completely empty our house. Special thanks go to the whole crew - Ana, Kayla, Mat A, Stan Steve I, Muzz, Bob, Wiri, Tony and Marrey to make our moving so smooth and stress free. They were all very helpful and made the whole process so much easier. We will definitely use this company again and recommend them to family and friends. Thanks team, you guys are so awesome the NZ...
