I always look forward to visiting Yanâs during my trips, and it has become a cherished tradition for me. The Asian food at the cafeteria is simply outstanding! Whether Iâm craving a flavorful stir-fry or some delicious dumplings, Yanâs never disappoints. The freshness and authenticity of the dishes really stand out, making each visit a delightful culinary experience.
What I love most is the vibrant atmosphere and the friendly staff who always greet me with a warm smile. Itâs the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a meal before I continue with my day. After savoring my food, I usually spend some time shopping at the nearby stores. Thereâs such a great variety of shops that I can always find something special to take back home to Whanganui.
For me, Yanâs is not just a meal; itâs a part of my travel routine. I always make sure itâs the last stop before I head back home, as it wraps up my trip on a high note. If youâre in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Yanâs for a delicious meal and a fun shopping experience! You...

Update: I tried the restaurant they have there today. The YumYumCha (steamed dumplings etc.) was quite good 8/10 for Chickens feet, shrimp and pork dumplings, and shrimp and chives) original chili oil sauce accompaniment was delicious too.. Of note was a large Chinese clientele which normally indicates a reasonablely good restaurant (or perhaps lack of...

They also offer other popular, product lines such as Chinese cakes and savouries, eg. baked char siu pow, red bean cake, etc., in addition to their cold, Chinese-deli foods.
UPDATE: A few days ago we ordered their Char Kway Teow. What a dismal dish - utterly disappointing! It was greasy and had black beans (it is not an order for ho fan with black beans!) and very little else eg. 2 halves of a fishball, 2 bits of "crab" stick. Note, the ingredients apart from the noodles are vital to this dish!!
Lucky for them their bakery and pricing has remained...
