“I didn’t know pad Thai could taste like this.” .. for this being a roadside stand, it’s fricken awesome. Highly recommend you go by for a snack. Kim Lee makes everything right there in front of you. I had the pad Thai — which I shared with my boyfriend. He had the dumplings which were light and crunchy. This place is GREAT. We also grabbed a HUGE bunch of fresh Thai Basil for $3. Highly recommend given grocery store prices.

Least friendly food exp in NZ in my two month trip, when serving in smiles are by default from most of the hospitality industry folks here in NZ, this place just stands out. Got the prawn pad see ew, came with 5 tiny shrimps, mediocre food. No credit card payment, should have taken my money somewhere else.

Lady is so nice and food is delicious! Many vegan options, we love specially red curry and pad Thai with tofu sosooo delicious. Must go in Takaka! And she’s also selling organic vegetable perfect tomatoes and some lovely smelling herbs.

Very disappointing. Tried another Thai food van from another Thai lady at Takaka on Saturday, ordered Fried rice and Pad Thai for $10 each, taste was way better than this one with cheaper price. Unfortunately it’s not open on Sunday. So me and friend decided to try this one, ordered exactly same food for $15 each, the lady was non-stopping chatting on the phone, ended up messed up our order(Pad Thai with chicken and fried rice with prawn ended up with opposite), and both of the dishes were tasted absolutely awful. If you already had experience with good Thai food but still would like to try her food, avoid the two dishes and double check with her about your order if she’s on the phone just in case she might take wrong...

INCREDIBLE food. Like, literally like you're eating in Thailand, if not better.

The lady is not very talkative (which is fine), but when I said something in Thai, her face lit up. I don't really know if her English level is something to do with it. Regardless, she was nice and professional, and the food was deliiiicious. Going to recommend to anyone going to Takaka.

Amazing green curry and super crispy 🤤 dumplings. Squid rings and fried parsley...
