we ordered more than a $100 worth of food for myself and my wife from here today and i have to say the it was the worst chinese food that v have ever had in christchurch...

the japanese chilli fish was sweet, the bami goreng didnt have any flavour, the beef in black pepper hardly felt it had any black pepper flavour in it... crispy skin chicken hardly had any salt & pepper flavour and the none of the dishes that were tagged to be spicy were in fact just sweet and hardly any flavour in them...

i have been to a number of chinese restaurants around christchurch and i have to say that even some takeaway shops serve better food than you..

im sure you will tag us saying v are indians and never satisfied with spicy food which is fine as v are used to be sterotyped. but restaurants like daphne's, corner house, dragon garden, foo san to name a few are restaurants we regularly visit and they have never let us down...

you guys really ruined our saturday evening... an absolute...

I went there with my partner and honestly the worse restaurant I have been to so far, super loud that you can not have a conversation with the person sitting in front of you , we were waiting for a long time to get the food and when we finally got it, they forgot our entree. It was really bad especially the sweet and sour pork and the rice ( the rice!!) we got out of there without finishing our food because it was impossible to eat it . I paid and politely complained about the entree never coming and all they said was “okay.” I also told them the sweet and sour pork wasn’t good and she responded by asking “Where is the best sweet and sour pork so we can go there and try it?” she did not even apologize for anything and I wasn’t asking for a refund but if we ordered something and wait for 45+ minutes for them to forget half our order and serve gummy rice it’s safe to say I was extremely disappointed. And to top it all off they...

The food was great and the ambiance was pretty good too. Staff were friendly enough.

For my 6pm booking I was told that we needed to be finished by 7.30. It was a little strange but that's more than enough time for a meal so happy to oblidge. By about 6.20 everyone had arrived and the server was notified as they removed the wine glasses.

We then played a waiting game of none of the servers acknowledging us and finally by 6.40 we went to the front counter to ask to be served. A waiter came around at 6.50 and took our order.

For a table that needed to be cleared at 7.30 they sure weren't prompt to serve us. Our final ordered item came at almost 7.15, so we were pretty rushed to finish our food. The food was delicious though.

This was very disappointing as this was my 21st birthday celebration that I would have liked to have savoured but was instead...

Chopstick Restaurant is a cosy spot that serves up a great mix of Asian favourites, with a few Malaysian classics adding extra flavour to the menu. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for anything from a casual lunch to a relaxed dinner with friends. I tried the char kway teow and wat dan hor — both were fantastic. The char kway teow had just the right smoky wok hei, and the wat dan hor came with silky noodles in a rich, eggy sauce that was pure comfort. Everything felt fresh, flavourful, and cooked with care. The prices are fair for the generous portions. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to — sometimes for the Malaysian classics, sometimes for a simple, well-made noodle dish. Must-try: char kway teow, wat dan hor #AsianEats #LocalGem #ComfortFood

Best Chinese restaurant ever! We went here in Friday night to celeb my dad's birthdaym even tho the place was a bit small, the ambience was pretty and a bit fancy! Xx their food tastes AMAZING! it is way BETTER compared to Chinese restos we dined before. We consider this as a hidden gem that will prolly not gonna be hidden anymore as we will reco this to friends! The staff were accommodating, nice and very friendly, they warmly welcome u once u enter. It really makes u feel as a family chinese resto 🩷🩷 will def coming back I definitely recommend their nasi goreng rice and their sweet & sour pork!!! Chef's kiss 🤌

I ordered crispy pork on rice for $16. I wish it had some sort of greens to go with it, the pork was really dry and the sauce was alot but the rice was good just alot of it more then the pork. Good touch with the sesame seeds though. The taste was ok but not great, Pork crackle was more soggy then crunchy. I would probably give it another try but if it continues to be dry then I won't go back here again. Considering its the most expensive pork on rice I have ever brought
