Crisp Cafe & Gifts — Restaurant in Christchurch

We like dining here as to its location. Yesterday we had lunch and ordered Scrambled eggs and English Breakfast tea. There were 4 customers in the Cafe including us, 2 wait staff and the chef. We seemed to wait a long time for the food to arrive. There was nothing wrong with the food but unfortunately the tea was rather stewed? Before the food arrived the table were chose to sit at was dirty, so I asked for it to be cleaned. This was not done immediately but took about 2-3 minutes to be actioned. The cloth that was used to wipe the table was very wet resulting in a very damp residue being left on the table. We were reading a magazine each so these now stuck to the table and when the food arrived part of the magazine was imprinted on the table. We also noticed that the floor was very dirty and had not been cleaned / swept for some time. Also the chairs at the empty tables were not neatly in lace and look a bit untidy. Now we are in business ourselves and first impressions are lasting impressions and also please remember that with out customers you dont have a business. So please ensure that the Cafe looks tidy and presentable and if you are going to wipe down the tables, it is a two stage operation, damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. My mother went to get a coffee yesterday, she ordered a flat white and upon leaving tasted the coffee to find out she was given a chai latte. She went back and said she’s been given the wrong drink, someone there insisted she ordered the chai latte but she said no, she ordered the flat white. For someone to argue back saying she ordered the chai. At the end of the day the customer is always right and just to make what she ordered and count your losses. Instead he argued with her so she left very disappointed, my mother is Asian so I feel there could’ve been a racial hidden agenda behind this. Tried this cafe again. Our first experience a year ago was a disappointment. Today the staff were lovely and accommodating. I had a fantastic cloud bread BLT and I would go again for that. My partner enjoyed his non keto meal. Unfortunately again the keto treats weren't good. One bite of the afgan and it was terrible enough to not swallow it and the lemon as slice was passable..
