The guide for our tour was Peter, and he was simply incredible. The entire journey was enjoyable, and I captured plenty of photos of the Northern Lights. At the start, Peter explained where we were going and why, and he chose a beach that no other tour except our small minibus group visited. The location was dark and quiet, providing a fantastic spot to watch the Northern Lights. I brought my own camera and tripod, but since it was my first time seeing the Northern Lights, I wasn’t familiar with the ideal settings. Peter was extremely helpful, sharing his recommended combination of aperture, ISO, and shutter speed, which saved me a lot of time and trial and error. After viewing the Northern Lights, we returned to the minibus, only to realize that my partner had accidentally dropped her camera lens cap. We had almost given up on finding it, as the spot was quite a distance from the parking area. Fortunately, Peter checked the entire area before returning to the minibus and managed to find a number of lost items including the camera cap. We were thrilled, as losing it would have been a hassle for the rest of our journey. Today, just a day later, we received a link to all the HD photos taken during the tour. What an AMAZING experience! We had Mag as our guide and he was fantastic! He gave us a lot of information on what to expect and how they try to find the best spots for the Northern lights. We skipped our first stop due to reports of bad weather (he was calling so many different people to make sure we had the best chance to see them). When we got to our stop the lights slowly started to show and them bam! They put on a gorgeous show! Mag is so considerate and recommended staying at this spot since we knew we had great views. Our group agreed so we spent our whole time there, which was wonderful.

I'm a beginner photographer and Mag really helped me play with my camera settings to get some beautiful shots. I also recommend watching a tutorial on photographing the northern lights so you're prepared because all cameras differ and me knowing where my settings were and how to change them made it possible for Mag to help me. Know how to adjust your ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance and set a 2 second timer.

Finally, Mag has a camera and took GORGEOUS photos of the lights and individual ones of us that he shared with us for free. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and both my mom and I were so happy after this experience.

Mag was also kind enough to drop us all off at our accommodations since we got back a bit after midnight.

If I could give 10 stars I would! What a phenomenal evening! There were a lot of luck factors at play with the weather, solar activity, and general timing. But the guide company also did a fantastic job of following the signs and predictions and heading to the perfect spot to see the auroras. Our guide was Jack and he was incredibly informative throughout the tour as well as being just as excited as the rest of us when incredible auroras happened. Even at the end of the first show (I didn’t keep track but we were outside of the van watching the auroras for probably two hours) everyone on the tour hopped back on the bus to warm up and Jack stayed out to see if anymore activity would happen. After about 15 minutes he excitedly got back on and got us all back outside to see the best views of all where the auroras were almost directly on top of us dancing fast and we even saw glimpses of pink! Truly breathtaking experience through and through. My photos don’t do it justice and I can’t wait for the photos that get sent through the guide company! Thank you so much!
