I leave a long review about my experience with this company so that it can help others in the difficult task of choosing who they go on a trip to the Amazon with ;)|| We spent a very pleasant and educational 3d/2n with Wolf Expedition tours. We chose this company after researching quite a few options on the internet, and later in person in Iquitos. We asked IPeru, the government tourism agency, for a list of official tourist agencies, which they quickly sent us via WhatsApp (+51944492314). I consider it useful to stick to companies on this list to avoid bad surprises, such as a family we met who were scammed after paying for the tour, and those who never picked up... We think we were right in choosing Wolf and I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends .|| I liked in a first contact that they were honest, and that they do not sell you the motorcycle, like others. Despite the name, it is a local business run by Doña Rosita, a boss from Iquite, who has been running the business ethically and responsibly for years. They also have a lodging in the center of Iquitos, which is very good, with a swimming pool, and very cheap.|| For the tour, it hires workers from the neighboring communities to the Lodge, and has land that it protects ecologically. The guides are also local, all graduates in tourism and specialized in the jungle.|| The facilities are basic, like all lodges, but clean and comfortable. They have two common spaces, the dining room and a hammock room, although some other outdoor relaxation space would be appreciated. The rooms are very well protected with mosquito nets and the beds are comfortable, you sleep very comfortably. The food was good and plentiful. Vegetarian option. They don't sell beers, but we took some cans from Iquitos that they kept for us in refrigerators :)|| Regarding the tour, we really liked that the tours are private, that is, my partner and I had a guide and an assistant at all times for both of us, which is a luxury, and also minimizes the human presence on the excursions, which which increases the probability of seeing wildlife in its natural habitat. Highlight our guide Kevin here, having him was the BEST part of the tour. He is an ethical and intelligent person, very organized and professional, and with experience and an encyclopedic knowledge of Amazonian biodiversity and life in the jungle. We learned a lot next to him, a luxury to have him as a guide.|| Finally, the duration of the tour, which is a point in which we had doubts. For us, 3d/2n was enough for this type of tour that runs through the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samira reserve, allowing us to carry out all the planned activities without stress. If we had had more days, at least 5, we would have chosen to go into the reserve camping at night, for a more immersive jungle experience and spot more animals. Keep in mind here, that despite what the agencies say, with 3 or 4 days, it is not enough to explore the Pacaya Samira reserve beyond its borders and no agency enters the reserve for that duration. It takes a day and a half to travel to the interior of the reserve, and another day and a half to return to Iquitos. This is something we learned on the spot. But for three days and as an introduction to the jungle, the surroundings of the Lodge are very good and allow you to see a lot of life.|| In conclusion, we are happy with the tour we have done, and we recommend this agency or one that meets similar characteristics. Do not hesitate to ask many questions before choosing!|| Enjoy...

Our trip took a week - 8 days and 7 nights from June 1st to June 8th 2025
The whole experience was well organised and on the other hand very flexible. Before the trip we were able to communicate easily with the company and they responded quickly and thoroughly to all our questions.
On our arrival to Iquitos we were picked up from the airport and transported to the office to deal with paperwork and then to our hotel. The following day we were transported to the lodge. The journey to the lodge was an experience in itself, firstly from Iquitos to Nauta bus terminal by minibus, then to Nauta port in a tuktuk and finally in two hours by boat to the lodge located next to one of the tributaries of the mighty Ucayali river.
Our guide Davis was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Not only he knew everything about local species of wildlife and plants, but he also introduced us to the customs of local people. He spoke excellent English and ensured that the whole trip went safely and smoothly. While we were on a boat he was able to spot and hear wildlife from a great distance and explained really well where we should look to find it. On the other hand he was really conscious of the animal welfare and made sure that we don’t disturb it. In the lodge Davis ensured that we have everything that we need and consulted us every evening about the activities for the following day. As I’ve mentioned the tour is really flexible and you can adjust the activities to your interests and needs.
Regarding the activities, everyday we did something different and the tour stayed exciting for the whole week. Among the activities we did: jungle day and night hiking, piranha fishing, boat ride to the beginning of the Amazon river, visit to a local village, experiencing the sunrise and the sunset and many others.
We were able to see numerous species and wildlife, such as sloths 🦥, red and blue macaws 🦜, toucans, different species of monkeys 🐒, alligators 🐊, pink dolphins 🐬, countless other birds 🦅, butterflies 🦋, frogs 🐸 and spiders 🕷️. We even got a glimpse of an anteater and found fresh footprints of a mighty jaguar 🐆
The accommodation was rustic, but clean and comfortable. The food was also really good prepared by the in-house chef Salomon. Everything was fresh and the highlight were juices prepared from various jungle fruits. We’ve also got unlimited bottled water and hot beverages available in between of the meals.
We’ve spent a lot of time in a boat driven by the boat driver Alex. He also helped Davis on our jungle hikes and cleared the way with a machete.
Overall, I really recommend Jungle Wolf Expeditions to anyone who wants an unforgettable Amazon experience. The trip offered an excellent price to quality ratio and exceeded our expectations in almost every...
Read moreI recently spent three days in the Amazon jungle with Jungle Wolf Expeditions, and it was an incredible experience. From start to finish, everything about the trip exceeded my expectations.
Our guides, Kevin and Patrick were fantastic. Kevin speaks excellent English, so communication was a breeze. He shared his deep knowledge of the jungle and its wildlife, making the trip both fun and educational.
The organization and timing of the expedition were spot-on. We never had to wait for anything – it was all perfectly planned. The team at Jungle Wolf Expeditions did an amazing job.
Our jungle accommodations were comfy, and the homemade meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were delicious. Breakfast by the river was a highlight, with the beautiful scenery adding to the experience.
We saw so many animals, like monkeys, parrots, sloths, snakes, spiders, dolphins and scorpions. It was thrilling to see these creatures in their natural habitat.
I was initially worried about the lack of a cell phone signal and the jungle itself, but these concerns quickly vanished. The jungle's beauty and tranquility took over. In the end, these three days in the jungle were the best part of my two-week trip in Peru, surpassing even the majestic Machu Picchu.
I highly recommend Jungle Wolf Expeditions to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in the Amazon. Their excellent service, knowledgeable guides, smooth organization, and amazing experiences went beyond my expectations. I hope to return, and I encourage others to go with them. This agency, Kevin and Patrick will always hold a special place in my heart for the memories and experiences they...
