Hospedaje Neydita — Hotel in Iquitos

I'm a biologist performing research in the jungle near Iquitos for 6 months. I stayed at Neydita for 5-6 days at the end of every month while we resupplied for the jungle and answered emails. Neydita was the perfect home base. Its in an excellent location, near the Plaza de Sargento Lores, surrounded by great restaurants and food carts, and walking distance to the Plaza de Armas (but far enough away it doesn't feel super touristy and people aren't trying to get you to take their jungle tour every 5 minutes). Luis, the proprietor, so super cool and speaks English and Spanish fluently. I had a particular form I needed by receipts in to get reimbursed from my grants and he was very understanding and super helpful. The rooms are very comfortable, and the common areas/balconies overlooking the plaza are a great place to spend all day, resting and reading and recovering. Hospedaje Neydita was our stop for our first night in Iquitos before moving on to our rainforest lodge. This hostel was in a perfect location along one of the squares, and served our needs wonderfully! Hospedaje Neydita offered airport pick up which was greatly appreciated as the airport in Iquitos was very chaotic with taxi drivers and Tuk Tuk drivers attempting to solicit services. Check in was a breeze and everyone at the hostel was extremely friendly. Our room had large windows and located just outside of our room was a patio that overlooked the square for great views. ||In the morning before we left, we had great conversations with the hostel owner Luis. Luis spoke excellent English and shared stories of his journey to owning the hostel as well as the interesting people he had met over the years. Best experience at Iquitos, Hospedaje Neydita it’s the best warm and care place around, nice quiet neighborhood not too close to downtown square, so isn’t that noisy, the caring of Luis and Mrs Neydita it’s definitely a family plus feeling. They took care of Us very help-full in most ways possible, Mrs Neydita it’s always aware in the most caring way to every details runs well, very attentive even shows up with just squeeze orange juice for my little ones, Luis always helpfully person trying to find best deals around for Us, on laundry, restaurant and even lodge tours and expedition.
