My Amazon Tours is the BEST option you could take in Iquitos. The entire tour was perfectly organized and we were touched by the beautiful nature in the heart of the Amazon jungle.
The lodge is surrounded by untouched nature. As soon as you step into the forest, you encounter countless birds and mysterious plants. The river facing the lodge is frequented by pink dolphins, and you can also fish for catfish and piranhas.
When you visit the site, you will realize that while the lodges of other tour companies are located near the entrance of the jungle, our lodge is situated deep in the heart of the jungle, beyond the local village. This is possible because of their 20-year history of conducting tours, and it is thanks to using this lodge as a base that we could truly experience nature.
Additionally, our guide, Rafael, who is from the local village, knew everything about nature. From the moving boat, he could spot sloths and monkeys, as well as tiny bats clinging to trees. There was never a dull moment while on the boat with him. When we entered the forest, he carefully explained the plants used by the locals as medicine and the various insects, allowing us to appreciate the extensive knowledge the locals have about the jungle.
We were also deeply moved by the companyโs motto of respecting nature and the way they put it into practice. For instance, when Rafael navigated the boat from the main river into tributaries, he minimized the engine vibrations to avoid disturbing the animals.
Moreover, the meals at the lodge were perfect. Honestly, we didnโt have high expectations for the food deep in the jungle, but it turned out to be the best cuisine we had in Peru.
Above all, what makes this company truly special is the hospitality of the staff, led by Gary. They welcomed us at the airport when we arrived early in Iquitos and even served us breakfast at their office. Knowing we had some free time the day after the tour ended, they took us to the Belรฉn market and helped us check the departure time of the slow boat we planned to take. When it turned out that the slow boat wasnโt departing that day, they helped us buy tickets for a speedboat instead. All of this was done out of sheer goodwill. Our experience in Iquitos wouldnโt have been as amazing without their support. We are truly grateful and highly recommend this company...

ย ย ย Read more(July 2024) My experience at My Amazon Tours was very interesting. I went to the agency by chance, without any intention of taking the tour with them, but after talking to Gary (who manages it), I was convinced that it was the best option. Gary, in addition to being very friendly and able to speak Spanish, English, German and a few touches of Portuguese (I don't know if he also knows French), showed great environmental concern, especially when it comes to contact with wild animals. During the tour (3 days), we met with the guide Rafael, who is a very helpful guide, has very good knowledge of the Amazon fauna and flora, speaks English, is a very good cook and is punctual. He has a huge intuition when it comes to finding animals and provides a very immersive experience. When we arrived at the shelter, we were able to hear about the experience of a German guy, who had been with Rafael before us for 6 days and we soon realized that we were in good hands. Rafael is recommended for those who have an adventurous spirit and dream of exploring the Amazon. The journey from Iquitos to the shelter is long and a little tiring, but it passes through very beautiful places and the shelter location is incredible. The shelter has very good conditions, considering it is in the middle of the jungle. The rooms had clean beds with mosquito nets, one toilet per room and a shower. We paid in cash and the price may vary according to the conditions under which you take the tour, as transport is one of the most expensive components from what I understood. For those who don't have much time, 3 days are good, but the ideal, from what we experienced, is to stay 6 days. (Gary also put us in touch with his brother, Nick, who got us tickets on the fast boat (15/16h) from Iquitos to the border with...
