It's nice to see local artisans and such, but it's a poor country and they don't have much apart from tourism. Therefore, they rely on selling the same alpaca wool, some come from factories, others from locals themselves and unfortunately, there are rolls and rolls of small vending tents, but they all sell the same stuff, over and over. Although the area is really pretty, well kept, historic, with splendid views, it's a bit sad. Old and young locals keep approaching you and trying to sell you their stuff, almost begging. If you have half a brain, you know they are struggling and that made me feel awful for them. It's sad to see a country that most people are totally dependent on this kind of informal income for the subsistence and we treat them like they are harassing us. You will find everything from souvenirs to clothing and jewelry, house decorating items like we got tapestry (Peru with alpaca fur) might not be 100% real but it’s good items. T-shirts, sweatshirts, table mats/runners all handmade and beautiful.
They are covered so no problem if it’s raining inside it’s all covered. Parking is on the side of the street and safe (keep car locked). No restrooms unless a large store has it. No food. Water bottles are sold and available for purchase.

The indoor market is a typical Peruvian food market where everything the culinary heart desires is on offer. Most have a food court on an upper level where housewives offer typical local dishes.
