It's nice to see local artisans and such, but it's a poor country and they don't have much apart from tourism. Therefore, they rely on selling the same alpaca wool, some come from factories, others from locals themselves and unfortunately, there are rolls and rolls of small vending tents, but they all sell the same stuff, over and over. Although the area is really pretty, well kept, historic, with splendid views, it's a bit sad. Old and young locals keep approaching you and trying to sell you their stuff, almost begging. If you have half a brain, you know they are struggling and that made me feel awful for them. It's sad to see a country that most people are totally dependent on this kind of informal income for the subsistence and we treat them like they are harassing us. Even so, I really loved the Peruvian, they're genuinely nice and welcoming! And olaytambo was one of my favorite places to go in the...

Fantastic place to shop!! Local artesian market with local stores. You will find everything from souvenirs to clothing and jewelry, house decorating items like we got tapestry (Peru with alpaca fur) might not be 100% real but it’s good items. T-shirts, sweatshirts, table mats/runners all handmade and beautiful.

They are covered so no problem if it’s raining inside it’s all covered. Parking is on the side of the street and safe (keep car locked). No restrooms unless a large store has it. No food. Water bottles are sold and available for purchase.

Negotiations required for purchase or else you will pay a lot. They negotiated good prices with us. Try to carry Peruvians sols then it’s a better pricing. Very kind and friendly vendors and...

Pisac is definitely worth a visit and has an interesting community of locals and expats. The indoor market is a typical Peruvian food market where everything the culinary heart desires is on offer. Most have a food court on an upper level where housewives offer typical local dishes. Pisac is no different and a visit is an absolute must to experience real Peruvian food culture. The outdoor market is less interesting with stall upon stall of the same factory made souvenirs. A real artisinal souvenir is hard to come by, but not impossible to find. Tip: visit the ladies in traditional dress who hand make a lot of...

8 Days in Peru (save and share this post): Can’t believe our time in Peru is over. The @adventuresbydisney team really knows how to put an itinerary together and the service was impeccable. Here’s how we spent our days. Day 1: Fly into Lima with free time to explore Day 2: Fly to Cusco and learn about the art of weaving at the Center for Traditional Textiles Day 3: White water rating down the Urubamba River and explore Ollantaytambo. In the evening all the kids had a Disney movie night while the parents got to have dinner on our own 🙌🏾. Day 4: Explore the Moray ruins and tour the Salt Pans of Maras. In the evening the adults took a cocktail class and Peruvian cooking demonstration while the kids learned how to make fruit mock tails and had a pizza making night. Day 5: Machu Picchu!! Day 6: Visit the Pisac Market and a Llama/Alpaca farm learning how the beautiful Peruvian textiles are made. Day 7: Visit the Stones of Sacsayhuaman, Andean Music Experience and farewell dinner. Day 8: Fly home So many moments that couldn’t fit in this reel but my stories will have so many more details, can’t wait to share those. So who’s added Peru to their bucket list? Any questions on traveling with Adventures by Disney? Hosted by #AdventuresByDisney #familytravel
