I LOVE THIS PLACE !! La ruta del sabor is my favorite. Since getting to Pisac in January, I’ve had some stomach problems so went to a limited diet of pretty much fish, meat, organ meat it I can find it, broccoli, asparagus and greens. So I’ve been limited in my choices of food. I’m not complaining because la Ruta food is sooooo delicious. I order antichucho de corazón, almost every day. I’ve also tried the alpaca, the chicken, the beef antichucho (which is a typical Peruvian dish not on their menu). It’s the best meat I think I’ve ever had. Melts in your mouth. They are so great- they have worked with me for over a month to make me food that my stomach agrees with, and their vegetables are always fresh and perfectly streamed.

I’d also highly recommend the aji de gallina, - amazing flavors, the rosemary chicken breast - wow how they infuse the rosemary in here is amazing, the alpaca steak, the lomo saltado and their kinsa cocha snobbish trout - if you like olives.

I’d like to still try the honey chicken some day and their tenderloin bon bons.

Highly recommend - I bring everyone here :)

Update: I’ve tried their honey chicken - that sauce is amazing, and the bon bons, which I added extra veggies too because it comes with a...

La Ruta in Pisac is a true culinary gem in the heart of the Sacred Valley. From the very first moment, you can feel that this place is run with passion and great attention to detail. The staff is incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional – you instantly feel like a valued guest who is genuinely taken care of.

The food is an absolute delight. Every dish is made with fresh, local ingredients, beautifully presented, and perfectly seasoned. The flavors are rich and well-balanced – you can taste the dedication and skill of the chefs in every bite. Not only is the food delicious, but it is also served with such artistry that it looks like a piece of art on the plate.

The atmosphere makes you want to stay longer. With its cozy interior, pleasant background music, and views of the surrounding area, La Ruta offers a unique and relaxing ambiance. It is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, a family lunch, or simply a gathering with friends.

La Ruta is the kind of place you want to return to again and again. Exceptional food, impeccable service, and a wonderful atmosphere make this restaurant one of...

Wow, we were absolutely blown away by this seemingly hole in the wall restaurant. You actually have to walk through a tiny shop and up a flight of stairs to find it, thought I promise you, the journey is worth it.

The atmosphere alone is cozy, cute, and welcoming. The service was amazing. When we ordered our food, I was about to order one of the vegetarian options, when our waitress stopped me. She said, if you’re vegetarian, I have a special something I’ll bring you that’s not on the menu, but it is very delicious.

WOW was she right. Whatever she brought me, was out of this world amazing. Loaded with vegetables and deliciously sautéed mushrooms (they tasted like steak to me!), and quinoa. Mmmmm. My boyfriend got one of the alpaca dishes. We also tried the Pisac sours and the creamy vegetable soup.

While this place is a little pricier than the local joints we usually eat at, it was a wonderful treat after a long day of traveling. I recommend that you at least have one meal in Pisac at this amazing spot, though I must warn you, after one meal you’ll likely be tempted to have them...

I was in Pisac Peru recently with friends and was turned onto La Ruta on the plaza. You walk through a store and upstairs to the restaurant. It is a favorite of the international community in Pisac and we loved it so much we must have eaten lunch and dinner at least five times while in Pisac. It is humble excellence with creative beautiful food. The ceviche, organic fresh green salad the was big enough the share, the trucha, (local river trout) in a creamy corn polenta with smoked Swiss chard and shrimp was so good I ordered it again when I returned. The smoked Swiss chard really makes this an extraordinary dish, and the homemade cacao ice on a chocolate tart we ordered to share was so good we had to order another one. Beautiful food in an unpretentious atmosphere with kind friendly and helpful staff. I had to take pictures and am happy I did so I could share them here. I was a chef for 40 years, so I feel I know good food. La Ruta was a delicious surprise. Mary Lane

La Ruta restaurant is wonderfully located in the center of Pisac's main square. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. We particularly liked the fact that daily specials are offered. The food itself is excellent: whether tender alpaca, juicy beef, or delicious chicken—everything is freshly prepared and lovingly presented. Vegetarians will also find something to their liking here, as there is a large selection of delicious meat-free dishes. We felt completely at home and thoroughly enjoyed the food. La Ruta is a real highlight in Pisac – we can recommend it without reservation!
