Mid-size hub, lots of convenient connections - and also lots of service gaps in addition. I've enjoyed one during my today's connection. The airport does not posses left luggage facilities. But you manage to discover that there are lockers downstairs. After asking 3 employees, you know where they are. All these discoveries are done in the company of 2 suitcases, big ones - otherwise, you wouldn't need the lockers, would you?) one of the employees happens to know about such lockers and even where they actually are - and you ask if it is payable with a card? You get the "yes" answer and happily head there, and finally see the lockers. ~ 20. To be paid with the card also. 1 out of the 20) Occupied. Ok, no frustration. You choose the price for those lockers which are called big, go to find the ATM inside (accompanied by you suitcases, of course). Cash your card, get a couple of zl banknotes. But you do remember that the notice on the locker says - guess what? - COINS ONLY! Ok, you are a positive person, so you go buy some water and ask the guy to, plspls, give you the change in coins. The guy is not happy - but you plead, and he gets small change from several cashiers' to help you out. Woohoo! You rush back to the lockers (well, not really rush - the two suitcases would not allow you to). Ok, you go back and start fitting your suitcases into the what-is-called big locker. No way. The two would not fit in - only one. Ok. But you are a positive person, remember? You decide to have one of the suitcases locked and then go and search more for the my-precious 1, or 2, or 5 zl coins. You start inserting coins into the locker - and it kind of swallows them without changing the balance on the box. Desperately positive (or positively desperate), you bang on the locker with your palm - and, wow, it gives the coins back! So you rearrange the lucky one (of your two suitcases) into another locker - bingo! You did it, one of them has been accommodated. You are the world champion, but it is the olympiad which is ahead. So you go back to the airport - walking lightly, with just one suitcase. You realize that there's no way buying another water to get the change - the helpful guy wouldn't not probably want to help once again. Just kidding - 'cause even if he did, he wouldn't be able to, as he would not probably have enough small change any more - it was me who has taken it from him and bribed the locker to accept one of my suitcases. So I'm thinking what else I can buy and where I can get the small change - and then I see that the SUBWAY cafe and a full tip box of small change, and I innocently presume the shop assistant would not mind to change my paper money to help me out, so I nicely explained my situation asking (rather, pleading) her to help. Surprise! The lady talked to me as if I were asking her to buy me a flight ticket) But at this moment 2 police ladies came up to the Subway - and they were so super nice, and changed me the money just from their own wallets. Do appreciate!!! They were the silver lining of this place, I must say. Well, me, the achiever, (as well as the suitcase, the loser) rush to the lockers' place. Choose the locker for the second suitcase and start inserting the coins. At first, it was changing the balance, but then it stopped. So I used already my precious coins - but the balance was still not changing. At this moment I burst out crying. End of the story. Already long enough. Or, rather, too long. In a nutshell: one locker/24 hrs costs 22 zl, which is 5,59 USD. I would have agreed to pay 50 - cause I did need to solve the problem. Why not increase the price and bring the service to normal? An open question. The airport would not care. Off top - it might help someone in a similar situation: there is Renaissance hotel just in front, 2 minutes walking distance even with the 2 suitcases. So I'm here now in their lobby. Have had lovely breakfast first, and now just trying to relax and breathe out my vain efforts at the airport. The good: connections, infrastructure, security and passport...
Read moreThe worst airport staff I have ever met... I would only give half star if possible..
I've been traveling to so many countries and this warsaw airport staff is the worst one.. They are rude, unprofessional, and don't know any knowledge about others' country visa regulations and stuff. They don't know even what they are doing at work. I'm a legal resident in the country that I have been live in for years, and when I'm about to check in from warsaw to flight back to the country I live in, the staff ( a man), he said that I have a problem with my residential visa. What a crab is that ! I have been in and out from my country of residence so many times. He wouldn't give me the boarding pass. We have an argument for an hour. I have shown him all the evidence that I'm a resident in the country I live in at the moment. But he still said I have a problem. All he said is i have a problem with the visa. he said with arrogancy. Until one lady came and checked, and she said, I have NO problem, I can get my boarding pass and let me go. But he only give me 1 ticket, I supposed to get 2 tickets for the transit. This guy really means to me, just because I don't look white enough to live in the white people country, he threat me like I'm a rubbish. He made my flight back really complicated.
The other thing make me so upset, when I asking to the other staff separately (a lady), she said is not about my resident but its because the ticket that somehow the agency didn't put my data correctly in the warsaw airport system. If it's about the ticket, he should explain about the ticket not mocking me said that my resident visa is invalid. Keep repeating2 and doubting my residential status. And guess what, after I landed in the connecting airport, I check in and the staff there ( which is not in warsaw), give me my boarding pass right away after they check my passport and legally resident visa.
The staff at warsaw airport really need to get training more, about costumer service, about the knowledge regarding visa or stuff like that. About how to solve the problem without being so means. And stop being so racist..
Ps. Based on their airport motto, "more than you expected ", that's definitely correct. Don't expect anything nice and...
Read moreI’ve traveled through airports worldwide, but this was by far the most frustrating and unpleasant experience I’ve ever had. The security check staff at this airport in Terminal C-D, were completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and downright inhumane in their treatment of passengers.
When going through security, I was forced to go back through the line three times because of their rigid and inconsistent enforcement of liquid regulations. I had carefully packed my expensive cosmetics in a bag that meets international travel standards and has been accepted at countless airports. However, the staff here insisted it didn’t fit their requirements and refused to listen to any explanation, instead choosing to act rudely and arrogantly.
The worst part was when the security attendant (badge number 61845) took my cosmetics, valued at over $300, and without giving me a chance to make any arrangements, threw them directly into the trash while looking at me with disdain. In any other airport, they would have at least handed the items back to me or allowed me the option to mail them home. Here, they treated my property and me with utter disrespect, as if passengers don’t deserve even the most basic courtesy.
This wasn’t just about the items but about the way they treated a paying passenger—with no empathy, patience, or professionalism. Their behavior was humiliating, and I felt more like an inconvenience than a person deserving fair treatment. This type of unqualified, rude, and dismissive attitude is the last thing anyone should expect while traveling.
I would strongly advise against using this airport if you can avoid it. I’ve never experienced such poor treatment anywhere else in the world, and it’s deeply disappointing to see staff with such low regard for passengers representing Poland. Avoid this airport at all costs; the security check here is truly a disgrace to the...
