Summary: A very rude barista please read below.
Synopsis: All I needed was to get my receipt printed in US dollars in addition to the local Polish currency from this coffe shop. When I asked for the receipt in dollsrs as well barista was telling me that they don't have such capabilities. I bought food and drink from two other business at the Chopin Airport and they were able to give me receipts in both currencies. The credit card reader does indeed show the total in both local currency and US dollars so it is very difficult to believe that they dont have the capabilities to print in dollar terms as well.
Detail: On March 12th at around 5:15 pm I walked into Costa Coffee shop located at lower level in Non-Shenghen area I'd say underneath of the gates 8N and 10N. I asked for a large cherry mocha and inserted my card for payment. It was displaying the amounts both in local currency and US dollars which I liked so I could immediately see how much I was spending in dollar terms. My initial reaction was tapping on that symbol to pay in dollars and expecting to get the receipt in dollar terms just like I experienced at Atmosphere restaurant except waitress took care of it for me there kudos to her and the same experience at Misa across from the gates 11 and 12N in Non Shengen area. So I asked the barista at the counter about that. His response was quite condescending and non professional and he told me "what are you doing" when I was tapping the US dollar symbol. When I said what I was trying to do he said push the red button twice in a sort of commanding and impatient tone and he did not even pay attention to my point. I did not leave it there and asked him that I was a bit confused, by seeing the US dollar option on the credit card reader's display an American customer would automatically assume that the receipt will be printed also in US dollars after seeing that symbol. He said that Costa does not have the capabilities to do that and gave me the receipt printed in Polish currency to be signed. His entire attitude was really ticked me off during this whole transaction as he kept his rude and impatient attitude. It is hard to believe that Atmosphere restaurant and Misa can print receipts in US dollars yet Costa cannot at Chopin airport. I think Costa Coffee should look into this case to review their system. Having that icon on the display which acts as a user interface really is a bad design from the user perspective and quite misleading if not capable of printing in US dollar terms. His explanation was not even making sense to me about not processing the transaction in dollar terms. If your staff finds themselves in a position where they can get away with rude behavior because people are on tight schedules, tired etc. from their trip so they wont raise issues like I am they should know that they are in grave mistake. Read moreEvery time I arrive at Warsaw and get my coffee at my favourite chain Costa there is a situation where there is trainee at the till who do not know anything as has not been trained and been put in a deep end. Only one barista with him or her who try to organise everything, sort out orders and teach that person at the same time.
I am a very frequent flyer and at least once a month at this coffee shop. Today it was the worst experience out of them all. And I do have patience for trainee staff and Costa as a company as I have helped open up first Costa store in my city in UK.
My suggestion to the management is to give this people at least some basic training before you put them at the front of a customers or have one more person by the till who can support the trainee.
My order was flat white stay in. Not only been asked so many times what my order was before I have finały said that I have clearly stated it few times and when I have heard that sorry he is a trainee I have asked “that’s why he can not hear simple order?”. Then got my coffee in take away cup made by the more experienced staff and of course he has to do it again which was done so fast that the milk was cold and did not foam.
So here I am with my cold coffee that I can hardly call flat white writing this review as this is the only way something can be done about such a bad service.
Now, let’s see if the management care enough and will respond at all?

Read moreTERRIBLE SERVICE!! Today (5/15/2019) in the morning I went there before my flight. I ordered a breakfast menu - orange juice, coffee and a toast. On the picture the toast was composed of two triangle sandwiches, on the side a guacamole dip, and orange juice in the size of the coffee. What I received was shocking - tiny orange juice in a glass for a vodka shot rather than a juice, guacamole dip was tiny too, and the best part - I received half a toast. When I went to the barista and said that on the picture the toast has two sandwiches and I received one, she answered "but we were out of it, so you received only half." I never heard such response and let alone about such practices!! If I never complained, I would pay for a full meal and receive only half? At the end they re compensated me with a different sandwich but still - it was unacceptable!! Worst service...
