Forum Algarve: A Charming Outdoor Shopping Center in Faro
Forum Algarve offers a delightful shopping experience in Faro, distinguished by its appealing outdoor design and practical mix of retailers. The heart of this shopping center is its inviting courtyard, surrounded by two levels of shops and cafés that create a pleasant atmosphere regardless of season.
The thoughtfully designed layout features shaded walkways around the central courtyard, allowing natural sunlight to filter through while providing comfortable protection from the Algarve's intense summer heat. The second-floor food court overlooks this lively space, creating a perfect vantage point to enjoy a meal while people-watching.
Retail options provide good variety with shops like Skechers, Swarovski, and Cristal, while the indoor section houses the massive Auchan hypermarket for grocery and household needs. Practical services including the Portuguese Automobile Club, travel agencies, and bookstores make this a convenient destination for both necessities and leisure shopping.
Food enthusiasts will appreciate hidden gems like Baja Fresh, tucked into a quiet corner courtyard, perfect for escaping crowds. The Brazilian barbecue restaurant upstairs deserves special mention for its exceptional lunch special—bringing tableside service and a generous buffet at prices comparable to fast-food options but with significantly better quality and quantity.
Fragrance lovers shouldn't miss the perfume shop in the corner of the ground floor, while practical shoppers will appreciate the easy underground parking. Just remember your entry point, as the three separate access areas can be disorienting upon return!
For those looking to extend their shopping adventure, the massive Decathlon sporting goods store and another large supermarket across the street complement the Forum Algarve experience, creating a nice option for a relaxed afternoon of shopping and...
Read moreI visited the shopping center and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The center was very clean and had a diverse range of stores as is typical of shopping centers, along with a good selection of dining options. The center was bustling with activity and had a very pleasant atmosphere. Overall, the people were friendly and welcoming. The only issue I encountered was the presence of pigeons, which would land on the upper parts of the wooden structure and leave droppings. There is a high likelihood of getting hit by a bird dropping or having it land in your food or drink. However, this issue could easily be addressed with bird deterrent measures. Additionally, the walls were also covered in pigeon droppings. Despite this, I still highly recommend the shopping center as it is truly worth a visit. The culinary offerings are good and the prices are reasonable. Despite the pigeon issue, I give the shopping center a five-star rating and will definitely return...
Read moreStayed at Ibis Hotel, 15 minutes away from this shopping mall which has been extremely great for entertaining my 5 year old, as well as accessing more familiar food for her, i.e McDonald's, of course.
Great shopping too. Zara has a great selection for both adult and children's clothing.
The summer family garden has been a treat too. €4 for a wristband and children get to go on unlimited access to bumper cars, trampoline and carousel.
Staff are very helpful. The supermarket has pretty much everything one might need for a comfortable holiday, from groceries to garden and picnic equipment, not forgetting swimming accessories for the little ones.
The only down side is the lack of taxis. This is no fault of the shopping mall. Most taxis get booked for long distance transfers around The Algarve, leaving virtually none for local small €5 jobs. Can't say I blame them.
Everall, great convenience for all age groups. Great vibe. ...
