Ended up here after EasyJet arranged a hotel for us due to an overnight delay to our flight. In all honesty we would have been better sleeping in the airport terminal! The staff were welcoming and helpful, but first impressions of the hotel and room actually brought me to tears. I ended up being in a room with my daughter whilst my husband had a room on the floor below, so I don’t know if this contributed towards me feeling so unsafe. The lift was extremely small and dated, so much so we used the stairs to our 6th and 5th floor rooms. I had huge concerns regarding fire safety as there was only one route for all floors out of the building and no external fire escape. The room itself was very dated, the bathroom and bedroom fixtures and fittings were cheap and old. Unfortunately it was one of those toilet situations where you can’t flush paper, instead putting your used paper in a bin, which just rounded things off greatly! The air conditioning worked well in our room but not in my husband’s. The bed was very uncomfortable as the mattress was rock hard and lumpy. I will say though that everywhere within the hotel was clean. The breakfast room location is bizarre as it’s in the basement with no window, when they have a half decent reception/bar area they could use. Breakfast itself had a good choice and the freshly squeezed orange juice was a nice surprise for us! All in all, if you have a choice I really wouldn’t pick here, even for a night. As I said, if I had to choose again, I would pick Faro airports...

Due to a cancelled flight, Ryan Air put us here for the night.
Let’s go from the beginning.
Upon entry our passports were scanned without reasoning, when questioned why our passports were scanned I had a confused look and was ignored.
When given the key to the room we made our way upstairs, when myself and my partner entered the room there was a pungent smell of body odour. Given, the room was clean but I’m sure that first impressions last, regardless.
When asking the person behind reception (the guy we initially met had left at this point) where we were able to go for food he just simply said “wherever you want, I’m not your manager”
I’m sorry but this was not the best thing to say to someone who should be at home at this time and after having a very unpleasant day, this isn’t the way to really make a customer feel welcomed.
The place is very dated, the staff are rather rude, the prices are absolutely mental. €2 for a bottle of beer and €2 for a can of coke.. the whole aspect of the hotel baffles me.
As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for in this place, even though I personally didn’t pay, I would severely advise whoever is debating staying here to find...
Read moreHow one person can mess up your perfect holiday in Portugal. I left my passport at Hotel Alnacir in Faro Portugal by mistake. They already had it in their possession why did they make contact to say we left it behind. What the purpose of filling in all the forums ???? I contacted the guys behind the desk and arranged with them to have it sent to my next stay.
After two days they still didn’t post it.
After phoning a 100 times the guy said it’s not his problem. My flight is booked for a Friday back to South Africa today is Wednesday he only posted the passports at 13 30 and on normal post not even express. Thursday is a public holiday. My question to him was, if he or his kids were in my country and I just said sorry it’s not my fault and just did so little to help another human in such need of help what would he do ......... It’s a disgrace that one human can do such a little for another. I guess it’s a lesson ......
So...
