Carrefour — Local services in Makkah Region

Carrefour in the beginning was not so good, Within the last two years I can see improvement and good promotions on dry and deli products, Butcher's side is still not showing excellent quality, Camel hashi meat is good but the price comparison with Panda is very expensive, I wish you Listen to my advice and as follows; 1-Meat section should be well advanced, providing us with good quality meat by all categories, local fresh, Brazilian chilled beef (select from the premium Brazilian quality beef) remember Brazilian beef are very good and tender with reasonable prices. 1-Meat section should be well improved and to be under Turkish or Syrian supervision in butchering and maintaining different types of super skills in meat cuttings such as beef/chicken shawerma, beef steaks, chicken escalope, mutton cubes with bone and boneless, and marinated in different types, etc.,

Fishmonger is showing high prices in some items. Fruits and vegetables sections is excellent, but try to make a special day in the week to provide with very special promo prices, just like al-Othaim Markets does on every Monday (Campaign).

As Carrefour belongs to French then the Bakery section should be more than currently, French bread and cakes are one of the best in Europe, but I cannot see that quality except by Names, I know to make the exactly quality will make the cost higher, then make it grade B instead, Bakery and Confectionery section should be under Moroccan or Tunisian supervision or Afro-Franco. Sweet and Cakes are very oily and very sugary and the results will be unhealthy. You are using very fatty cheese in your pizzas and I can't see Arabic pies like Manageesh. Egyptian bread is good but it becomes dry after short time from the oven, even though you have fixed the new oven machine recently.

Fresh juices and fruit salad section is a beautiful and small landmark inside Carrefour Flamingo, but the tag price is more than expected, I believe majority of your customers are medium and low income, so try to make some balance and your value will increase thru high volumes.

My suggestion is not based as customer only but a well market experience as well.

Shopping at Carrefour, Flamingo park was a great experience for us, what with their good prices and fresh produce, until we encountered a humiliating experience with their eco bags. Carrefour eco bags are a great initiative to curtailing the use of plastic and saving the environment, something many ecologically conscious customers appreciate.

We had used our three bags on separate occasions without any issues. On the last occasion, the cashier flagged the supervisor who demanded a receipt for the bags that had been purchased several months prior, but since we did not have any 'physical' evidence of not having stolen 6 measly Riyals worth of eco friendly bags right off the hook, the bags were thrown away and we were forced to cancel our purchases so as to not inconvenience the customers in line.

Fortunately, as we are a member of the Carrefour Club, our receipts are logged in and we were able to provide those in charge with proof.

We were told to show our bags to security upon entry, but how feasible this approach is, is beyond me. Do customers in possession of the bags have to repeatedly show proof of purchase or do they have to pay for their bags every single time they shop at Carrefour? The entire purpose of purchasing them is defeated if the store cannot come up with a system that does not alienate their customers by humiliating them upon suspicion of theft.

Perhaps provide those customers who purchase the bags to USE THEM, with tags that prove that they have already been purchased beforehand.

Baaaaad customer service employees treats you so bad. Do not try and buy their thick shopping bags cos if u use it again they ll charge u again so get it stamped from the customer care (who will treat u bad and it ll take more time to do so)

Vegis and fruits are over priced and below average, Greenies are yelloish dry and no life, okra is big and the small ones are leafy (if u tried to ask for a better quality u might get a slam hahahahaha I tried and the african man told me this is what we have)

good egyptian bread, but any else was dry bread which supposed to be fresh like the french bread, and loaf. Cakes are bad taste, full of coloring and sugar.

Fresh juice counter is the best of all and the pakasrani asian man eas friendly. I always get the best pomogranites juice.

Imported fruits and salad are ok, but small corn and avocado are bad, I think they want to sell it even if it is brown corns or dead avocado.

I have no idea why they sell you the bathrooms' mats and rugs, messy and no barcodes.

Not enough staff if u want to ask. Good offers sometimes.

No managers on duty exist, and if you need one they ll ask you to come next morning

They do not accept negative comments especially the arabian and saudi staff in charge and have not learn how to deal with unahppy customers.

The customer's service counter is small with one person in it.

I did not see any bar-code reading machine. Trollys had its time
