Milky Lane Newton Park — Local services in Eastern Cape

On the 3rd of December at 10:00, my date and I ordered 2 classic waffles. We paid and waited for our waffles to be served. The order took 45 minutes to prepare. Note that the place was not busy with only 2 orders at that time. We expected a sit down service, since there are tables at the premises. We received our orders in boxes with plastic cutlery. We were not told that it is for take-away only. Eating a waffle with plastic cutlery and in a box is not very fun.

The waffles was dry and hard, with a toast-like texture. I have approached the staff to mention that it is not acceptable to wait that long for an order, but only being told that waffles is not something that they make every day. Why put it on the menu then? I would have appreciated it if they told me that the mix has not been prepared yet, instead of waiting for them to prepare batches. If the ice-cream was not that delicious, I would have rated the experience 1 star. Do not go to milky lane if you want to relive your childlike dream of waffles...

I took my grandkids out and was in the vicinity of Milky Lane when they started with a cacophony of "grandpa, I need an ice-cream please". I did what was most necessary and we soon walked out ... each with delicious ice-cream. Service was very prompt, the till assistant was friendly, had a nice smile and upsold very well. Would like it if I could order a Waffle. Please consider making your shop larger to accommodate sit-in customers... I, as well as many others will frequent the shop... There is no other better place to make Waffles like Milky...
