Woolworths Hemingways — Local services in Eastern Cape

I’m so disppapointed at your Country Road Department. I really thought highly of this store especially this section. I went to buy a Country Road sling bag on 21 February 2024 and the person, his name is Junior, tells us that the bag is kept for a customer who is buying it the next day (22 February 2024). Otherwise, should the customer not arrive he will call us and sell us the bag. I called today and he tells me that, NO, he can’t sell us the bag he is keeping it for another customer who is coming on Saturday.

When I expressed my disappointment with him, he said sorry he can’t help any further. All I want to know is that, is this company policy? Who qualifies to have some items in the store reserved without payment? I’m really left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Could it be his laughter when I saw him at the store, or could it be his annoying laughter when he said, “thats it I told you I’m keeping it for another customer?”

Always a quality experience. Whether I am looking for clothes for the kids or food , I find what I need.

There are certain things I wouldn't buy elsewhere, like fruit and veg.... when I buy from anywhere else , it's last less than a week and I only have time to shop once a week so I need it to last right through.

Well stocked. Friendly staff. Even if lines are long, they move quickly because unlike other shops they are aware of this and open up tills.

I love that it's eco friendly and they don't use plastic bags.

I like this Woolies, I've been grocery shopping here from day one, I have found that some of items are getting really price and I wonder sometimes if you are getting value for money, particularly on the ready made meals, however you should know that woolies are going to be on the top of the price range but I still shop there, I do like their coffee stall, it adds a nice ambience and lovely coffee aromas wafting through the store as walk on by, don't forget to bring your own bags? even though 99% of the food items are wrapped in plastic, the irony is that they stopped selling plastic bags at the...
