The Steaming Mug is more than just a café—it’s a boutique food and coffee destination that’s quickly becoming a local favourite. Whether you’re craving a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, a delicious bite to eat, or a decadent dessert, this stylish spot promises a flavourful experience from start to finish.

Every item on the menu is freshly prepared with attention to detail and bold, satisfying flavour. From gourmet sandwiches and hearty breakfasts to mouthwatering desserts that look as good as they taste, The Steaming Mug offers something for every palate. The coffee? Rich, smooth, and consistently excellent—crafted with care by skilled baristas who take their brew seriously.

But it’s not just about the food and drink. The atmosphere is warm, modern, and welcoming—ideal for quiet catchups, casual work sessions, or hosting special occasions. In fact, a friend of mine recently attended a birthday celebration there and couldn't stop raving about the experience. From the beautiful setup to the attentive service and vibrant vibe, he described it as “the best birthday venue experience” he’s ever had.

Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast, a foodie, or someone looking for the perfect spot to host an intimate celebration, The Steaming Mug is well worth a visit. Alberton has a true gem—and now, you know...

We were not at all acknowledged when we went inside. And the lady just flat ignored us after seeing we're not sure what to do or where to go. After waiting a while we just went to a table and sat down. Now, I wouldn't have mentioned it if it were done with everyone coming in, but it was literally just with us. We ordered our drinks. My hot chocolate was really good. I really enjoyed the marshmallows that were a little melted from the hot chocolate. The spicy Chai tea I tasted from my friend was also nice. We had the steaming mug hamburgers. It was delicious and I would recommend this. The chips were crunchy on the out side and soft in the inside. Something a lot of places struggle with using that type of chip. My friend took one take away for her husband. My mother in law had the chicken mayo and finished it.. Which is huge. She toasted chicken mayo was very good. Forgot to ask for a bite. Will definitely go again to try some other options on the menu and I would recommend this place to friends even though the introduction was...

A Hidden Gem for Coffee, Canines and Comfort Food What an absolute treat to stumble upon this lovely, pet-friendly coffee shop! Yes — pet-friendly. You’re warmly welcomed to bring your canine companions along while you enjoy a great meal and relaxing atmosphere. The menu offers a wonderfully diverse selection, ranging from hearty pap and kaiings to a beautifully spiced bobotie, and more. Best of all, almost everything on the menu is affordably priced, with only one item over R100 — a rare find these days. The food is delicious, made with care, and delivers excellent value for money. Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee or settling down for a lazy brunch, you’ll be well looked after. A highlight for book lovers is the cosy book corner with a charming take one, leave one shelf — a perfect touch that gives the place a warm, community feel. If you’re looking for a welcoming spot where your furry friends are as welcome as you are, and where good food doesn’t cost a fortune, this little gem deserves a visit. Highly...

Ate here on the 21 April 2023 at 9:30 am onwards. ●One of the best coffee shops around.Ive been to quite a few and none of them come close to the quality, service and atmosphere the steaming mug has. ●The food is absolutely delicious and packed with flavour, from any of the breakfast options to the flapjacks or savoury flapjacks to the sandwiches. The food items on the breakfast ordered was cooked and seasoned to perfection. ●The milkshakes are also super good,I definitely recommend having their milkshakes, creamy, smooth, textured and packed with flavour. ●The coffee is well coffee, cant really say anything on it other then delicious as every cup of coffee is anywhere. ●The atmosphere itself is always buzzing at this place, its always packed with customers. ●The service is top notch, staff makes you feel like family and checks up on the table all the time ●If you are in the area,I highly recommend giving them a try,you will not be dissapointed.
