Subject: Formal Follow-Up Complaint: Continued Harassment by Night Guard Security â 13 October
Dear Sir/Madam,
This morning, Monday, 13 October, at approximately 6:50 a.m., I was leaving Virgin Active Gym at Northgate Mall to take my daughter to school when I was blocked in by a Night Guard Security vehicle. Two of your security officers then approached my car in what can only be described as an intimidating and targeted manner.
One of them immediately began shouting, âYou are the one we should have arrested yesterday for taking that dog!â I remained calm and replied that I had not taken anyoneâs dog â I had simply offered to assist an animal that was clearly in distress and required urgent medical attention.
Despite this, the same officer repeated the accusation twice more, loudly declaring that I was âthe one who started the troubleâ and that they âshould have arrestedâ me. I requested that they move their vehicle as it was blocking mine and preventing me from reversing, which they eventually did.
This incident clearly indicates that my vehicle and/or I have been marked or profiled by your staff, which is wholly unacceptable. I now feel unsafe visiting Northgate Mall, Virgin Active Gym, or any of the mallâs surrounding premises.
I maintain positive relationships with several of the car guards at Northgate, but they hold no authority over the actions of your contracted Night Guard personnel â whose behaviour continues to reflect poor training, bias, and gross unprofessionalism.
I spoke with your Area Manager, Heinrich, at approximately 10:00 a.m., who assured me that he would investigate and provide feedback. However, should this harassment persist or should no corrective action be taken, I will proceed to lay a formal charge of harassment at the Honeydew Police Station, with full support from Steadfast Security, who were present and assisted me during the initial incident on 12 October.
This matter is now beyond an isolated confrontation â it reflects a pattern of intimidation and misconduct that demands immediate management...

Other than the hills going up and down the place, there were other ups and downs.
The downs. There is no real food court, the are literally no fast food restaurants, just 1 small steers. The spur is big but is not for people on the go, and so is the Mug and Bean.
The open space or walk ways are very very small and your cant hold hands with your lover as you always have to make way for oncoming people.
Other than that, there are ups to the mall.
There is a new state of the are Max cinema, first in the continent! It's very classy and affordable. Unfortunately I was there for the Ice rink not the cinema.
I went for the ice rink, Bae and I wanted to go ice skating on a hot sunny day. We arrived at the ice rink after being forced to succumb to eat steers due to no variation nje. The Rink was chilled as expectedly, clean and very beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the atmosphere was very nice. The ice was smooth and the music was very nice, it was lit we sang along as we slid to through the clean ice!
Just to add a difference, I love how the ice rink has a skating aid for the little once called penguins, that was very cute and helpful.
Overall the area is nice and very clean....
Read moreAbsolute disastrous and dissapointing experience. How can such a huge shopping mall not have proper power backup procedures in place . An absolute waste of our time as none of the shops are functional during loadshedding. We have been in the mall and had to drop everything and leave . Loadshedding is not going to go away very soon and for the life of me i can't understand why you have not gotten some type of proper backup procedures in place . Loadshedding has been around for years now and yet you fall to see the importance of caring for all the customers . How do you manage to keep your tenants . If i had a franchise and were renting from you i would probably be looking for a new premises. Im sure you have the financial ability to afford a good backup system. Please heed the warning . Otherwise it will soon become a white elephant. Customers don't want to be inconvenienced like...
