I would not even rate 1 star for this experience. When it comes to health & safety cross-contamination is att utmost importance in the food & restaurant industry. Today I was rather appalled by my order. I ordered a malva pudding which smelled like fish and tasted a little like it too. I took 2 bites to make sure and had the kids smell it to make sure I'm not going crazy. Shockingly this was in the fridge with raw sea food. They said they had different fridges as I went to pop past to see this was not the case. They then asked me if I'd like something else. I decided to have buffalo wings and crumbed mushrooms. This was clearly made with the calamari I discovered after haveing a few crumbed mushrooms. Thankfully I had cut them all in half to cool down so far I noticed mushrooms untill we noticed a few crumbed calamaris one with the mushrooms which my parnter had some from my plate as he was supposed to have crumbed mushrooms we then saw it wasn't. This is extremely Dangerous! If you are allergic to sea food or in my case Pregnant and can't eat this at all!!.
Absolutely shocking! The staff seemed way to chilled about it. Owner of this branch needs make sure his/her protocols in cross contamination is meet in alignment and agreement of the Food Safety initiative RASA...
Read moreI'm incredibly disappointed with my recent experience at Spur. Upon arriving at the branch, I was completely ignored by the waitstaff. Despite waiting at the door to be seated, no one greeted me or acknowledged my presence. When a waiter finally approached, they promised to call someone to assist me and then left me waiting for another five minutes.
To add to the frustration, another customer who arrived after me was promptly served while I continued to wait. This lack of communication and disregard for my presence made me feel incredibly undervalued as a customer. It's disheartening to receive such poor treatment, especially from a brand like Spur, where I've come to expect better service. I immediately left and went to the M&B where i was treated like a valuable customer because I refuse to spend my money where people treat me like they are doing me a favour.
Unfortunately, I'm compelled to give a star rating in order to post this review, but if I could, I would rate my experience as zero stars. I hope Spur takes this feedback seriously and works to improve their customer...
Read moreMy SO and myself had our first meal here a few years ago, because of this I really want to like the restaurant but have consistently found it to be of lower quality than others.
Straw that broke the camels back was when I ordered a beyond burger last week and for some reason the kitchen thought it acceptable to put a rolls Royce quality patty (amazing patty but spur doesn't make it themselves) onto a dry, flaking, roll that literally fell apart before I could even eat it. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that these rolls were frozen and then thawed, or they had been standing for far too long. Whatever the reason, for this to be served on a peak evening would embarrass me. I've ordered this patty from every restaurant that serves it and can say with absolute certainty that this spur was by far, the worst one I've ever received. The only variables being the assembly, stock and quality control.
