The Buzz Shopping Centre — Local services in Gauteng

The centre holds much potential to be a lot bigger and more welcoming than it currently is.

Renovations have been taking place so there's some hope that it will happen because it's sad to see yet another convenience centre fall to the wayside.

At the moment the few stores that are there try their best to keep up but if people aren't around to help give the establishment life it's a lost cause.

There is a Pick n Pay which, since reopening has slightly improved. Not much to write home about but at least the store is cleaner. Humble Harry's cafe seems to hold its own and serves great coffee.

There's also a tattoo parlour as well as the Smokin' Aces bar and bistro which too, holds much potential if only the right people are there to love and grow it.

The gym at the centre comes with mixed reviews. Some enjoy it and some say it's unsafe both inside and out. I haven't used those facilities so can't comment.

Overall at the moment The Buzz is an alright place to stop off - but only if...

The Buzz is out of the ordinary in name and in the variety of stores and services it offers. There was a period of time, probably the early 2000's or aughties, where branding became more about having a name like The Buzz instead of stating your orthographical location and adding 'Square', 'View', you get the picture. Was The Buzz perhaps a bit of nominative determinism? It's still busy, and frequented by residents from all over the ever-growing Fourways. So then the answer is yes. The lay out is slightly disjointed, but then, more than 15 years ago they had the space in which to build. Indeed, it probably serves another purpose, as some of the entertainment establishments operate until late into the night, where people and vehicles can be kept...

Very simple and basic shopping Centre. Covers your basic needs or simple entertainment as well as health and wellness facilities like Planet Fitness.

No undercover parking or covered outdoor parking's. Not ideal for extreme weather conditions. No kids area or place to entertain children or get out with the family. It is a to the point, come and go Centre which is also beneficial, especially for those who love to shop. Help them just focus on their task not wonder off into Windowshop land. Clean and safe. Right opposite Douglasdale Police Station. With Fourways Mall, Cedar Square, Montecasino and Pineslopes Shopping centre's extremely nearby and at your best...
