Updated Great revamp. The shopping centre did a lot of things right: from the new tenants, with Checkers getting a revamp as well. You have great coffee shop like Seattle there, both clicks and Dischem - both make a difference, many specialty shops, a few restaurants. The branding is done brilliantly and credit to the people who did it and it is obvious on Winnie Mandela so it’s prime location. So that brings you with the only problem- traffic flow/ it is already an issue to navigate all the broken traffic lights on Winnie Mandela and then you have to try to get into the parking area and when inside it is a nightmare of a flow. Just not properly thought out. However it is a convenient shopping centre once there. Bathrooms are properly revamped and mostly clean. As usual you have your irritating car guards to deal with, but that is a life we have to accept. All Pictures copyright ©️ blackjohannes. Pictures as is and not edited or manipulated. Leaping Frog is an old little shopping centre in William Nicol drive in Fourways. It probably needs a makeover to compare with the more modern similar shopping centres. However, it is a convenient stop if you want a supermarket that is not too busy. Checkers is an anchor tenant and supply the basics. The Mozambik is a popular restaurant. You also have a local favorite there, Humble Harry's. Nandos has a drive through, there is a hair salon, computer shop, cellphone repairs and a hair salon. It is a convenient stop when you go there for something specific. More than enough parking. The centre needs a makeover and a good Anchor tenant and Checkers have closed. There is a drive through Nando's, however at night the parking areas are dark and leaves an uncomfortable feeling.

The Leaping Frog Shopping Centre has recently undergone a stunning renovation that has truly transformed the space into a classy and upmarket destination. Upon arrival, we were immediately struck by the modern aesthetic and thoughtful design that sets it apart from typical shopping venues. One of the standout features is the ample parking—an often-overlooked aspect that enhances the overall shopping experience. Once inside, the variety of stores available is impressive. Whether you’re shopping for your pets at Petzone or stocking up on groceries at Checkers FreshX, it’s clear that every store has been carefully selected to cater to a wide range of needs. Dining options at the centre deserve special mention as well. The selection of restaurants and food outlets offers a diverse array of cuisines, ensuring there's something to satisfy every palate. The welcoming atmosphere adds to the charm, making it a delightful place to spend time. Highlighted stores such as Clicks, Dis-Chem, Nando's, The Brazen Head, Humble Harry's, Andiccio, The Daily Coffee etc showcase the eclectic mix available. While some names may change as the centre evolves, it's clear that a comprehensive and enjoyable shopping experience has been prioritized. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with The Leaping Frog Shopping Centre. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite, need to do some grocery shopping, or are looking for an enjoyable day out, you'll find something to suit your needs. With bonus features like live music from time to time, I highly recommend visiting this vibrant shopping hub!

The leaping frog shopping centre is newly renovated, and I was blown away by its transformation! The moment I drove in, I was intrigued by the adorable theme that's carried throughout the entire centre. I noticed the parking, making it easy and convenient to visit. What really impressed me was the variety of stores catering to different needs. From Petzone for all my furry friend's essentials to Checkers FreshX for grocery shopping and daily necessities, every store seemed carefully curated to provide a comprehensive shopping experience. The restaurants and food outlets were another highlight, offering a diverse range of cuisines to satisfy any craving. While they didn't have an alcohol license during my visit (it have changed since then), the atmosphere was lively and inviting. Some of the stores include: Clicks AND a Dis-Chem, Nando's, The Brazen Head, Humble Harry's, Andiccio, The Daily Coffee, Hudsons, Mi-Vami, Banjaara, Pizzayiro, Burgerrack, Rodizio's, Two in One, Tarts & Cakes, and so much more. (this might change though) But overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this shopping centre, and I highly recommend visiting. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, a grocery run, or a fun day out, this centre has something for everyone, even live music from time to time!

WARNING... HOLD ON TO YOUR BELONGINGS!!!!!

I used to love going to the Leaping frog shopping center; it was a place of convenience, with amazing restaurants and a great vibe. Unfortunately, I must warn you to be extra cautious with your belongings. The theft at the shopping center is alarmingly high and it breaks my heart.

Just last Thursday, 6 March 2025, I was at Vi-mami waiting for my delicious food when a man came up from behind me and stole my phone right out of my hands. I was sitting at the table right near the counter. It was a terrifying experience, made worse by the fact that security was so close by but did nothing to help. The getaway car was probably standing there for 5-10 min while the thieves were circling the restaurants looking for their next victim, Security should have flagged the vehicle and told the people to park. Anyway, the thief jumped into a white sedan that looked like an uber car and sped away by the time I reached the door. We requested Video footage from Leaping Frog center management and the owner (Very Nice Guy) of the restaurant, however t's been 3 days and we are still waiting for the security footage of the incident from management.

This isn't an isolated incident, but rather a pattern of theft and even a hijacking since the shopping center reopened in November 2024 in total 6 incidents. It's happening almost twice a month and yet Leaping frog management seems to be taking NO action.

The lack of security measures, such as booms at the shopping center, is a major concern. Many shop and restaurant owners have requested for booms to be installed to improve security and ease traffic congestion, but nothing has been done.

Please be vigilant and aware of your surroundings when visiting the Leaping frog shopping center. So many people are carrying their phones openly, making themselves easy targets for thieves. People be street smart...
