Usual Spur experience - if you've been to any other Spur this one is no different. The location of this Spur (the relatively quiet Fourways Crossing) is probably the only thing different about it - it's great for quick access.
They have two play areas - a jungle gym-style play zone which is on the outside under a covered area and a "Teen Zone" with arcade-style games.

I am writing to express my discontent at the lack of concern one of your managers at Eagle Falls Spur (Fourways Crossing) showed in handling a complaint I put forward to him. The manager in question is Thabiso. I would like to outline the sequence of events below:
We arrived at the restaurant at dusk on 6 December 2021 to celebrate our son's birthday and were taken to the outside seating area at our request.
Shortly thereafter our waiter (Mthoko) took our drinks orders.
The drinks were then brought to our table, at which point I asked Mthoko to please take our food order.
As he was taking our order, the drunk patrons seated next to us very rudely demanded he come to them. The patrons in question were a rude white couple who had been speaking loudly since we arrived. I stand to be corrected, but I believe they were drunk. They were so rude to Mthoko that he had to excuse himself from taking our order.
As he walked away from us, I trailed his footsteps to inside the restaurant and asked the other waiters to direct me to the manager(s) on duty.
At the front desk there were two managers present - one by the name of Thabiso and another called Tankies or Tinkies (I'mnot sure about the 2nd manager's name). Our waiter had also approached them to request their support in intervening in the situation. As I was approaching the managers' desk, I saw our waiter walking from it. I can only assume he approached them for support on the situation.
In addition to our waiter, I also explained to Thabiso that I was not happy with the condescending behaviour the patrons had shown towards us by rudely demanding the waiter attends to them while he was taking our order. I also explained to him that he had to attend to this issue immediately as the patrons in question were on their way out.
Based on his body and verbal language response to the URGENT issue I had brought to his attention, I was not surprised when he did nothing about the situation. He did not show any concern at all. I explained to him that due their behaviour they were hindering on our enjoyment of the Spur facilities. I further explained to him that their behaviour was patronising, condescending and racist... as I am almost certain had we not been a young, black family this old white couple would have waited for their turn to be served.
The rude patrons then proudly proclaimed that "We are mlungus and we are racists" upon my return to the seating area. I did not say anything to them as they continued to hurl insults at my family. Mthoko apologised to us and confirmed that they were indeed drunk.
I explained to my partner that I will not be surprised if the managers do nothing about the situation and wait for these rude people to leave before coming to us to "apologise". And boy was I right, that is exactly what happened.
After they left Thabiso came to provide a string of weightless excuses around why he did nothing about the situation. As a manager, he...
Read moreWhat can I say....I love this place.i am a regular there.i make sure at the end of every month, I take my family to this particular spur branch.
The biggest reason is due to the kids play area. It's honestly the nicest and convenient. Every parent wants the ability to have a meal in peace and take there time eating and not have to worry about their kids safety.
This spur is perfect for this. We can watch the kids play and not feel rushed a use they bored or not in the mood to eat.
I honestly love this spur for the kids area and obviously the food, always good, never disappoints.
Another plus side is the wonderful staff that look after the kids while they play, that's another huge plus side that's rare in restaurants.
It's not often that there is someone to watch them while you eat in peace, so the fact they have staff dedicated to this specific task is amazing.
That's the extra added touch that keeps me coming back to this place twice a month , the inside staff to watch your kids.
Honestly parents understand how important this part is to us. The ability to have a meal in peace and not rush through it just to get home.
I will definately keep...
Read moreUpdated review and sad to say the place has deteriorated in terms of food, liquor and service. The children enjoy the play area and honestly that's all I wanted but wow, waiting 45 minutes for 2 kiddie waffles, receiving an Irish coffee that seemed like they used the last dregs of coffee, and having to ask 3 different waiters for 2 takeaway boxes...come on. The food also really needs to be questioned. Portion sizes have decreased dramatically and price increased. Will think twice before coming back.
Previous review some years back: The atmosphere is alright as far as Spur goes. The manager didn't seem too friendly though and our waiter didn't put any effort in when he realised we weren't ordering big meals. Our child had a good time in the play area though and the fact that there was a childminder was a positive. Overall a clean establishment. Would be nice if they had more beer brands on tap (only 2 available - Castle and Castle Lite) and if they upped the effort a little more as it is a family restaurant. But yea,...
