I mailed the club manager (Reveshen Govender) who just passed me to his Sales Manager (Bafana Mazebuko) I guess with the hope they could offer me a "special package or convince me to come back" - pathetic... No further feedback or resolution.
I joined Bellairs Virgin Active gym via Vitality early 2024 and dealt with Shimane. The reason for joining was not only for myself but my daughter who is a figure skater for Central Gauteng (age 13). I was very clear that I will need her to exercise with me, which confirmed that it will be ok except doing free weights (which I agree with 100%).
On this basis I joined just to find out that she is being forced to be with Club-V, defeating the purpose of joining.
Monday 15 Jan I confirmed this with Shimane and asked for feedback which obviously, my sale was done and that was all that mattered, no feedback.

I came in to cancel, unfortunately I cannot see the date due to the writing that faded on my copy but it was in your cancellations book Ref: 620333. I was very clear that I will not pay the notice month due to me being misrepresented in taking the membership.
I have not constantly been bombarded by sms saying I need to pay R210 and now all the sudden R1500+ !!!?? What the hell?
If this is not cancelled and resolved, I will take this as confirmed to social media...

Just really wish they did not mess up my request to have a one month membership, and more so, what is wrong with wanting a one month membership? Apparently you're trash if you ask for that, or maybe that just does not warrant decent treatment cause you will only be there for a month... oh and then they mistakenly put you up for 12 months, you go back and ask for it to be corrected, you are then charged 1.8K for a one month membership and also you have to return the bag. Fine no problem, there are better designed gym bags out there, and in fact I would much rather use a backpack anyways, and rest assured I certainly do not want to carry your logo around since fitness and customer service clearly does not matter more than membership attainment. I mean then just remove 1 month from your website and forms please, since you clearly do not support it, and you try and punch in almost 3 months worth of membership fee for a one month membership instead of trying to incentivize people joining, bad marketing technique, perhaps revise. Also look at their app reviews in the app store.... It's horrendous how they treat paying customers. Seriously what a joke. Hope that whoever gets my second hand bag has better...
Read moreI joined a Virgin Active membership on the 1 April 2024 signed up by Tbos at the Bel Air health club in Northgate. I signed up for a membership of R865. The next day R1152 was deducted from my account. I phoned Virgin Active SA and the lady who assisted me said she can pick up that there is an overcharge and has escalated the matter and would give me feedback the next day before 10 am. The next day I didnt get a call from Virgin Active and no Refund. I phoned Virgin Active SA and queued for 45 minutes with no assistance. I phoned Tbos who joined me he said he would have me refunded within the next 7 days ending 10 April. I phoned the Bel Air health Club to make sure and was told I would indeed be refunded in 7 days.I waited but still didnt get my refund. On Saturday 13 April I phoned the Bel Air health club and was told that Privilege is the one holding up the process I got hold of her and she said the manager is not around which he never is, said she raised my issue with Virgin Active head office but cant remember when and cant check the dates either because the system wouldnt allow her.
