What a lovely way to spend a few hours in the warm Durban autumn sun. Pizza & Wine = happiness.

The Firehouse is a tiny outlet that specializes in gourmet pizzas. This is not your run of the mill, franchised one size fits all kind of place. So if it's a crispy thin pizza base that's been cooked in a wood fired pizza oven, with toppings that you won't find anywhere else, you've come to the right place!

The Firehouse offers deliveries within a 3km radius of their Florida Road outlet.

We ordered our pizzas and popped over to Spar Tops to get a bottle of wine. Graham, the owner of The Firehouse, provided us with glasses.

We ordered two of their popular pizzas and can't wait to get back to work our way through the menu. Mafioso - Mozarella, feta, salami, pepperdew, chilli and peppers (I omitted the peppers) R100 Rustic Bacon - Mozarella, bacon, feta, pepperdews & avocado R100

Next on our list will be their Pork Belly and Durban Curry Pizzas. They also offer a Vegetarian pizza - Cauliflower

Prices range from a very reasonable R70 to R100 with high quality, generous toppings.

Very relaxed chilled vibe. Limited seating outside, round table and long counter table....

First Time We have ordered Pizza as the Reviews were all positive.. What a waste of Money, 1 Hour and 15mins for delivery, Pizza was cold and base was as soft as anything, biggest waste of money the toppings, hardly any cheese, or meat.. For the price we paid we should have gone for Debonairs, which is rubbish, but value for money, the reviews stated the owner takes pride in what he offers, what we received was probably the worst Pizza we have ever had.. As I said what a waste of money and time. This review will probably be ignored and we will get a sorry, that’s about it, we will never order at Firehouse again.Just for noting when you order a Pizza (Durban Fire House) the price stated is not what you pay as we found out the Pizza was R135 and then we had to choose a chicken or beef option and they add an extra R29 which you are forced to pay, basically you are paying for a base and cheese, which there was none and then the protein, which was also non existent.....

A Slice that Travels Far If you want to taste what it's like to travel to Europe but can't travel then stop on by to the Firehouse! In between the Staff's Smiles and seated amongst the scent of basil plants, sit back and enjoy the musical adventure this time capsule will take you too! The thing I loved about this place is that it's not just about the Pizza it's all about the love that you can taste in each ingredient that is intentionally gracefully placed and the amazing people you meet there! Rustic bacon is a good choice if you like bacon and avocado and the Margherita is an all around classic! If your preference is Vegan then you will not be disappointed! I am not vegan but enjoyed stealing slices from my partners Musgrave vegan pizza so much! Enjoy the adventure you are about to embark on...
