The place was neat but the driveway was by a corner where you cannot see oncoming traffic so it was unsafe. I made it clear on my booking that I have a pet that’s coming along. I asked for a family room that mind you had bunk beds and a sofa bed due to me coming with more guests. Nowhere did it specify that my pet needs to be paid for and you pay per guest. We received a very rude awakening half an hour before checkout that someone informed the receptionist that there were more than 2 guests and a pet and needed to be paid for. I disputed this with a lady named Joe who was very rude and cut the call in my ear. It never was about the money but more of the service and the manner in which it was done. The owner then came to sort it out, at first he and I had an understanding because he knew very well that the booking websites leave out details. However he then proceeded to comment racial slurs. “You people need to learn to be honest, that’s what’s wrong with the country”. His family members then proceeded to also join in and scream from their balcony “and they also brought a dog! I know they did!”. He then only apologised after we had said we’re going to leave a bad review. We paid the amount due and left, never will we go...
Read moreSpending some time at Flintstones guest house was great. The lady who checked us in was very courteous and welcoming, i believe her name was Patricia. The guest house is actually quite lovely, the ambiance is just wow. The cost is inclusive of breakfast (a great one) and you get to choose what you will have even as early as when you check in. Wifi is free but just for the first hour, then there after you pay R20 (or there about) per hour. The parking is also ample for guest but guests should be mindful of other guests who might want to leave early so as not to block their vehicles.||We stayed at the upstairs room, which had a balcony. The rooms are carpeted and quite clean. The bathroom is also quite big and clean with hot water (solar heated). There's also satelite tv in every room, coffee making facilities and also air conditioning. ||||To anyone planning on visiting durban and looking for a quiet place to stay i would reccomend Flintstones...
Read moreI have been at Flintstones with 20 other people for the wedding of a friend in Durban. I was not the one that choose this guest house as I was following the whole family and other friends, but I have been very well surprise by the place.||Well organized, perfectly serviced thanks to the girls and the owner.||Rooms are very comfortable, the bathroom clean and neat, you even have a very good pressure in the shower which is very nice after a long day in Durban!||Breakfast was served every morning at the requested time - you had to give your menu & time on the previous day though - and it was delicious (try the minced beef, it's so lecker!).||||Also, there is a little restaurant 2 minutes away from the guest house called "Comics", the variety of meals is impressive and the quality and quantity is excellent and the price very competitive. Also the owner is extremely friendly.||||To conclude, a warm thanks to Flintstones staff & owner for the...
